Came here at 8.30 on a friday, loads of spare tables, stood waiting to be served for 10 mins, to which the waiter had to ask, who i assume the manager, if we were allowed in. Following an uncomfortable stare up and down of us, he shrugged his shoulders. We were told 5 mins for a table to be prepared, which we were invited to get a drink at the bar. The bar man wondered off and didnt come back for 15 minutes at which point we were seated at our table. We waited 5 mins for a menu and given 1 minute to choose. When we wanted to have a drink order first they looked gormless at us as if we were speaking alien. Shortly after drinks arrived we were ready to place our food order, overall food was okay, lacking in any real carbs or italian food, one of us ordered gnocchi and it was more like mac n cheese! Wine was left in a cool box at the other side of the restaurant, waited far too long for them to bring it back for top up, so we took it and left it on our table, another gormless look from the waiters. Overall a "trying to hard fancy half italian", between 4 of us spent £250 and was not ashamed to ask for the 12.50% service charge...
Read moreMy wife and I arrived in London tired, but thrilled to be here. We checked into a nearby hotel with the goal of dining at a place without a short walk. The receptionist suggested this place or another Italian restaurant. We opted for this one based on the atmosphere. We could not have been more pleased. We started with the scallops to share as an appetizer. It came with five scallops which was a perfect amount for us. For the mains, we stuck with seafood and ordered the cod dish and the halibut dish. The halibut was pan-fried with aubergines and "crashed" potatoes. The cod was wrapped in Tuscan ham and served with spinach. This amazing meal was accompanied with a bottle of Noce Chardonnay. For dessert, we opted for two glasses of Prosecco and shared the Tortino Caprese. Not only was the meal amazing, I also have to compliment the outstanding service by Numan. If this rest of our dinners in London are this good, then I will be impressed. Thank you, Numan, for a...
Read moreNice place and nice atmosphere but the service is ordinary. When went to book the place a couple of days before it was 9pm and I guess they close at 10 pm so they were scared that I was there to eat food and didn't come to ask me why I was there for 5 awkward minutes. One of the waiters was very rude. When I asked him, excuse me, may I make a booking (he was not doing anything) he said with a raised voice, "wait a minute" and then went on to clean empty tables and didn't return. Thankfully on the day of dinner we were not served by him. If we had I would have asked for a different table. The food is good. Some people might find portion sizes a bit on the small side. There are very few vegetarian options which is a shame. 'Sapori' near by us a better food, better service and better value for money restaurant. The only thing is it has a cafe vibe and cannot really be called a proper restaurant. You can't go there to have a...
