Visited at about 11 am on a Saturday morning in August. Had no problem getting a table at that time but the place filled up quite quickly as time went on. The place was pretty as expected, but had a bit of an unpleasant smell, which I guessed was the large dehumidifier whirring behind us. We spent time over what to choose from the menu. The food menu is limited but the drinks' extensive. Eventually I chose rose latte and the granola and my dining companion chose a latte with mushroom and a cheese toastie. When the waitress came to take the order she said she was unable to serve us with the mushroom latte as she had an allergy to mushrooms. I found that a bit strange as there were several other staff members present, two of which were waiting on tables, couldn't she have asked a colleague to serve it? After this we were then told there was none of our chosen milk in stock so we had to choose different milks. My rose latte was nice but very sweet - may be suited those with a sweeter palate. My companion had rechosen a chai latte which was even sweeter and the chai taste overpowering. Again, perhaps suited to some palates. My granola was very pretty and tasted nice but nothing special. The cheese toastie was small in size and bland in taste. Concur with previous review mentioning chips on the plates and cups. Overall it's worth visiting this place for the different and pretty factor. I probably would go again if a friend wanted to try it, without expectations of anything special.

Trendy or what! I almost felt out of place by the clientel. The staff are lovely in particular, one who was knowledgeable on everything sold and the most popular dishes. So, so oversubscribed, long waiting times. There is a sign saying no laptops or tablets as a measure to deal with the long waiting times. The food is amazingly presented and most if not everything is vegan friendly with gluten free bread thrown in as optional. They play loud House and Garage music which I didn't like so much as I felt I had to shout at times to be heard. They had power cuts as many as 3-4 times during my visit which seemed like the 'norm' as no one appeared bothered by it at all. The cashier explained that it was something that regularly happens when they use too much power, it just shuts off. The music stops and the lights go out and the card machine cuts out. Was happy about the music break though😀. I was told it was the most photographed cafe on Instagram which I wasn't surprised due to the quirky decor, the attractive food and imaginative teas and coffees! Definitely one to visit, just avoid general peak times and days!

This place is an absolute gem. Much more than the sum of its individually rather excellent parts. Sure, the interior is the most beautiful of all the cafes I’ve visited, a retro pastelly confection of marble, rose gold, pink and green. But even if it were not the most Instagram-friendly spot in the East, I’d keep coming back for the zen atmosphere, the light, brightness, the friendliness of the staff, and the reasonably-priced fab drinks and cakes. My white chocolate hot chocolate was velvety and light, whipped up with almond-milk, and the fact that it was the most delicate shade of pink was merely a cherry on top. Delightful, shockingly unpretentious, and even worth the trek sideways to Mare Street for.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. I live locally and have been here a few times and it has steadily become intolerable. My initial visits were good, decent service and good coffee but it's been getting progressively worse and worse. The staff are incredibly rude and act like they are doing you a favour, despite the customers paying well above a normal price for a coffee and cake. I've had to wait 25 minutes for a take away coffee on occasion, and could barely get a response from the staff when asked how long I would need to wait. My most recent visit was a week ago, where I was informed that the barista couldn't take my order as their computer was down and they couldn't possibly write down our order. Overall, it was a great place when it first opened, but the staff is now incredibly rude and they don't seem to have the capacity to deal with their increased popularity. I want to support local businesses, and truly enjoy their design aesthetic, but I don't need to pay for bad service because there happens to be nice...
