My favourite pub in Camden. Me and my partner come regularly whether it's for a few quiet drinks, play some video games or board games. Great choice of entertainment and beer selections (including no/low alcohol). All staff are kind and passionate about their job and the different drinks on draught/bottle. A big shout to the Greek manager in particular.
Only downfall is the food. We order 3 pizzas, 2 chips, cheesy garlic bread and a lunch time foccacia. Ham in the foccacia was inedible, we couldn't even tear it with our hands. No sign of mozzarella either aged or buffalo but instead just a standard cheddar. Chips were massively over salted. Garlic bread was fine just the bread is chewy but this was the same as all the pizzas. To be totally honest, I have had a lot better frozen pizzas. The manager did offer a round on the house and the ham was shown to another bar staff as we are not the type of people to complain. I am glad the food is a separate enterprise as I would re-evaluate. I did have the food prior to this when I took my team for xmas drinks and no one was keen on the pizza then.

Read moreA few weeks ago, I visited this pub with a group of friends. Upon arriving, I found my friends standing outside visibly upset. They had just experienced discriminatory behaviour simply for speaking in their native language (Portuguese).
An individual—whose connection to the venue was unclear—approached them and told them they should “only be speaking English,” which was deeply offensive and inappropriate. When we raised the incident with staff, they dismissed our concerns, stating that this individual is a regular customer and that they did not believe he would behave in such a way.
We later submitted a formal complaint via email, only to receive a response stating that what happened did not constitute discrimination. This minimisation was extremely disappointing. My friends also mentioned that other inappropriate remarks were made during the encounter, though they were too uncomfortable to share the details with me.
As someone who spends a lot of time in the area, this is not the first time I have heard of incidents like this linked to this establishment. I strongly recommend avoiding this venue, especially if you value an inclusive and respectful...
Read moreWe stopped here for an early evening Sunday roast. It's not a bad looking pub. I ordered roast chicken and roast lamb for us but they came back to tell me that they were out of lamb. No problem with that - our fault for ordering quite late. Generously they offered lamb shank as a substitute which I was pleased with.
The food was a bit of a mixed bag, though. The chicken and lamb were both very tasty, the roast potatoes were adequate but the mash was a bit watery. I'm not sure what was going on with the Yorkshire Puddings but they weren't great. The broccoli was a bit limp but who boils parsnip? They were weird and horrid. They were served mixed with the carrots and it was as if the carrots had seen the parsnips and decided that there was no point making the effort. There was a tiny amount of gravy but at least more was supplied on request.
I don't know if this is a regular Sunday thing but half a dozen folk musicians started up an Irish music jam. They were...
