The overpriced suya didn't look & taste authentic (it lacked the grilled smoky flavour), in fact it was reheated in a not-so-discreetly-placed microwave oven right before my eyes. The service staff didn't smile like she wasn't happy to be there, had minimal communication & didn't even say thanks for my custom. I went well out of my way to go there based on recommendations but I certainly wouldn't be going back. Many UK based Nigerian/ African businesses have a lot to learn & understand business operation etiquette. The importance of quality service and/ or food delivery to match set prices. Needless to rehash, reheating food on the hob or the microwave in a takeaway or restaurant setting is definitely unacceptable and can endanger life via food and tummy related illnesses. Unfortunately, there is often an incredible sense of arrogance the establishment owners towards its customers even when providing poor quality products & services at exaggerated prices. The bridging of these two factors mean these businesses often don't...

It was recommended by a hotel manager and to my disappointment (being Nigerian by birth) nothing I bought elated me. i bought the affang soup (assorted meat) with pounded yam, meat pies and Jollof rice with assorted meat.
I did ask the lady if the pies where still ok to eat and she insisted would be good for days even, ended up buying 3 and they were all off. the affang soup was ok to eat but it lacked any attention at all, the meats were clearly from the freezer as the evidence of the microwave burn made then chewy.
I am yet to eat the jollof rice but I will have to say, my expectations are completed deflated.
I shall be demanding a refund for the pies clearly after spending £28 Nandos which was not far from my hotel would have been a better bargain.
I will never be going back as they are not representing the country's fine cuisine...
Read moreHorrible service..excessive waiting BUT tasty food. This was my first time at restaurant nicely decorated and clean however extremely noisy (maybe due to the boxing) and lots of swearing which made it more like a pub setting which was off putting as was on a date thought I would get the ambiance to reflect the occasion. We arrived at 9:15 ordered someone eventually came at 9:30 and took our orders. After waiting 40 mins we kept quering where was our order in around 10 min intervals and the kept being told it was coming out however the food never arrived at 11:20pm we recieved no apology, no discount NOTHING!! Needless to say we had to ask for it to be placed in containers to takeaway. I would get takeaway as food was extremely tasty but will never again order in unless things change!! I would also suggest separating the restaurant section from the drinking side especially when catering for sporting events and maybe hiring some more staff on busy nights...
