Pret A Manger — Restaurant in London

Would like to thank the kind staff at Petit Pret, Stratford Station for their trust and kindness today. This morning on my way home from work I opted to grab a chicken & bacon caesar sandwich and almond croissant. Unfortunately their card payment system was having trouble, and was still unsuccessful after several attempts.

Because I pass through the station regularly I asked if I could just come back and try tonight on my way to work, and the kind lady serving me agreed to this.

This evening I popped in just to make payment. The two gents in store seemed very amused and surprised, and after a chat with who I assumed was the boss on shift they said there was no need to pay, and that they appreciated my honesty. Thank you everyone!

In a general review, I usually only ever get the same things (chicken & bacon caesar, posh cheddar and pickle, almond croissant) which are always delicious and hit the spot. I can't really comment on their other products, though I do really wish that Pret would bring back the proper New Yorker sandwich instead of the veggie one.

Because this is a small establishment in a train station it can be hectic at peak times with big queues. Just a little organisation, maybe separate queues for people who are just getting hot drinks, and those getting sandwiches etc to help things move faster. This is literally my only complaint, and it is minor.

Terrible Pret. I ordered an extra hot mocha, this should be heated up to around 70 degrees. However, my drink was heated up to about 90+ degrees, which scalded my tongue it was that hot. One of the Baristas and and the the duty manager who is also a barista had an appalling attitude toward me bringing this to their attention and asking them to remake the drink. The barista (with no uniform and no name badge - dark-skinned 5'7/8 ish Asian male - Bangledeshi I would assume) who had no involvement in my order whatsoever - proceeded to say this isn't even hot and to make unnecessary comments. His attitude and behaviour was appalling for a frontline customer service worker, he probably should be working there unless Pret wants this sort of representation. The tall mixed heritage woman (duty manager/barista when not deputising) her behaviour was also not exemplary by remarking I requested extra hot so I shouldn't complain. I buy this drink every day I know what extra hot is and what temperature it should not exceed unless specifically requested by a customer. As a result of this I have now cancelled my subscription with Pret as I will not continue to endorse a business which such a poor regard for customer care and satisfaction. The service in this shop is shocking, there are only a few staff who are actually capable of serving customers and carrying out the basic duties...

Amazing Pret A Manger branch! Having been a regular customer here for the last few years I have always been impressed with the wonderful customer service I receive and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The Pret Barista Subscription is amazing and offers great value. However, Pret's board should not have cut an incredible amount of jobs as this branch and other Pret A Manger branches have been to are very understaffed in terms of meeting the demands. This morning around 7.45am there was a queue of 12 customers in front of me and pre lockdown there would be 3 employees on the tills and 2 preparing hot drinks and coffees with 1 occasionally jumping on and off the 4th till. Now there is only 2 employees 1 on the tills and 1 preparing hot drinks. This is ludicrous and the queues barely move! They seriously should have thought twice about cutting jobs and then offering a very lucrative coffee subscription as the employees looked so overworked and tired. It's great Pret A Manger is everywhere but over expansion has led to them not being able to balance the books. However, the staff do provide excellent customer service! The selection here is amazing with a great range of Vegan and Vegetarian products which are well stocked. The hot food is delicious but often runs out of stock to quickly! Overall, I strongly recommend this Pret A Manger...
