I've had to update my rating from 5 stars down to 1. There's a lady there with glasses and a sharp middle part who I've found to be quite passive aggressive and rude. I didn't appreciate how she handled my situation, nor did I appreciate the passive aggressive "HAVE A NICE DAY!" as I turned around to leave. I recognise attitude - I'm not silly.
Since my last 5 star review, I've had a couple of issues and both times it wasn't the issues themselves that irritated me, but rather, how the staff handled them. It's like they take things as a personal threat when you raise an issue with the product you've paid your hard-earned money for.
I used to work in retail myself so I get it, customers can be irritating and it's easy to get defensive but not every customer is coming to attack you - they just want to receive a quality item and service in exchange for their money.
They also need to do something about the flies. It's like Amityville in there. There's always loads of fruit flies breakdancing on the cookies and the staff don't seem to care. Flies carry germs - those germs can make people sick when ingested.
The tall guy who works there is pleasant, I see him at the station branch too. He's provided a decent service consistently - however, all of the stars I would have given for his service, combined with the lady I mentioned in my old review have been etched out by the service I received during my last two visits.
OLD review - I want to give a special mention to the young woman with the headscarf (apologies, I didn't catch a name!) but she's genuinely one of the kindest, most good-natured people I've come across. She deserves a raise/promotion/award or whatever it is that's given to staff as a reward - she...
Read moreThe food is always good at a Pret and they have a good veggie selection. However I went in today and was charged £10.50 for a coffee and a baguette. The equivalent in Gregg's is less than a lady Godiva, it is not as good as Pret but no way is it over 50% as bad. In fact it will do the same job. On all the cups now it is all about Club Pret, plastered on advertising boards and in public spaces. £30 per month for up to 5 coffees per day and 20% off all food. So that is why for the passers by they have to pay over the top to fund those paying monthly. If you have their 5 coffees a day it would cost over £17. So this has to be funded somehow. It's the end of the line for me as I will have to get my baguette and coffees (£4.70) from Greggs as I don't want my money to pay for everyone's cheaper drinks and food.
The service in this particular store is not up to Pret's normal standards, a bit rude and unwelcoming. Shame as your food...
Read moreAppalling experience, visited on the 05/01/2024 around 18:48 to grab a sandwhich, I joined the queue to pay (there were two customers in front of me and one behind me).
The barista making drinks asked the customers on the queue whether they were getting any drinks in which I said no because I only wanted to grab a sandwhich.
The customer behind me in line said yeah and told her his drink choice. By then, it was now my turn in the queue to pay, but the staff on the till completely disregarded me to serve the guy who was behind me originally and pushed the sandwhich I placed on the counter to the side saying he gets to pay first just because he ordered a drink?
Manager needs to review CCTV footage and retrain the staff on till. I am a regular customer of this specific branch because I use the station next door everday but I won't be coming back here. Really poor...
