This was without doubt the worst experience I have ever had in any Greggs anywhere in the country. When I went in there were a group of 5 people all together in front of me who couldnāt decide what they wanted. Instead of asking them to stand aside while they decided the member of staff just waited while they talked amongst themselves for 10 minutes and then took another 10 minutes to get what they eventually decided they wanted. By this time I was fuming and there was a queue that was stretching well into the car park. Only when the queue was absolutely massive did someone else come out to serve, unfortunately however they were absolutely clueless! They were a trainee but surely they must go through some basic training before they are allowed on the public. This guy had to ask the already very busy other person about everything I wanted and then took 5 minutes to give me the correct change after twice giving me short change. He also told me I couldnāt get a receipt until again the other person stepped in and got me one. You are very lucky Costa is very busy as otherwise there is no way I would have stayed and rest assured I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review isnāt just for this one, itās for the previous two Greggs Iāve been to - Liverpool Street and chingford I believe, where I experienced disappointing service/beverage.
This isnāt pertaining to their food but their hot drinks and alternative milk choices.
This photo pertains to this branch. If this drink wasnāt free due to a reward from my insurance provider, I would have asked for a refund - likewise when I visited the Liverpool Street branch.
This was supposed to be a vanilla latte with soy milk. The confusion started when I asked for soya milk, which happened when I visited a previous branch too. When the assistant finally let me know that they have it - what was produced was worse than what I can do at home - and my home coffee is bad. It was watery, tasteless and nothing like a latte. If this was a one off, I wouldnāt be so critical, but this was the same at their Liverpool Street store.
As I said, this is purely for their latteās. I regularly get their yum yumās which are delicious - so this in no way reflects on that side of the business. I just think they really need to up their hot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs much as I love a Greggs on the weekend after a night out there is nothing worse than peeling yourself into clothes specifically to get a Greggs and when you make the journey find them to have almost no cooked pastry at all.
It's not a one off at this place either. I have made the journey several times to be met with an empty counter or no steak bakes and none in the oven. This afternoon the entire cooked pastry shelves were empty.
Anyway, love the pastry, staff are friendly...but seriously. Keep those shelves stocked. I can't imagine the business you're losing. Also there have been times the pastry is burnt which I haven't experienced in any other Greggs. Not sure how this one manages it.
Update: This place has clearly had a change of management as it has consistently been better and had stocked shelves for...
