Had a Halal Sunday Roast Lamb Dinner for £16 and I' have to say for the price and fairly central London location and the faultless, very informal unpretentious but still welcoming warm and homely diner / café environment, it could possibly be as good a roast dinner you could hope to have in London at anything like this low to mid level price point.
The dinner was served with 3 or so quite large roast potatoes that were cooked very nicely; quite crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and enough in size to accompany the amount of lamb it was served with.
The lamb was very nice with a relatively generous portion of three - four medium to quite large, and as typical cylindrical, pieces of tasty quite tender pieces of roast meat. All of which had that very subtle rich lamb-ey flavour. As is normal and to be expected for a Sunday Roast, even as served in well known fine dining establishments, the cut of roast lamb provided here, while not necessarily prime as its often not possible to use prime cuts as restaurants have to make it often for many covers each time, it was still not only very tasty, rich in that delicate lamb flavour, but I could also tell, they had still cooked it low and slow for some time which is likely what made this otherwise probably more tougher piece of Lamb still very tender but not overcooked. This, all made it very tasty, so 10 out of 10 for preparing this cut.
The roast was also served with a very big Yorkshire pudding and ample portions of blanched cabbage and other veg including carrots and also critically with lots of very nice lamb based homemade tasting gravy; which while you can do without, still when used furthers the taste.
Specifically, because of the price of £16 but also the generous portion sizes, taste, location and especially for the fact it is all Halal, in terms of the overall value, the offer as well as the quality, I could say this is on balance, arguably, as good a halal roast dinner I have had in London. Great experience and very satisfied overall so would recommend and definitely will be back for it again soon.
BTW I had this on a Sunday so not sure if the roast dinner is only available on Sundays, or if it can be ordered on other days. So, best to double check with the restaurant in advance to save disappointment, if wanting it on any other day.
We arrived at around 6.15 pm and found free parking right-out side, but I know on non Sundays they are other parking restrictions. I think on other days parking, while less easy, because this is not right in the heart of London there should still be other parking options, especially even free options in the evenings, that are close by in the surrounding more residential streets, including those off the main road where this café is located. Check parking before hand to ensure you are...

Such a yummy breakfast/brunch!
My husband and I drove an hour to try this place out, and it did not dissapoint at all!
Such a yummy breakfast! And it's halal which is awesome for us Muslims!
The decor is so tasteful and lovely. Makes for a change from all the cringe barbie/instagrammable, lacklustre common tack out there these days.
This place is instagrammable, but I got the vibe, they wanted to invest in the appearance of their cafe, as a cafe, not for social media. Was lovely to see the detail of the decor. Especially the wall piece/frame that reminded me of Egypt!
Now back to the food... fresh, well presented and delicious.
Best halal beef sausages and rashers we've had at a breakfast place. Delicious sausages and rashers were not the cheap salty ones.
I got the pancake breakfast. First time trying what would be a dessert for me, with savoury. The combination with the syrup, was delicious. My husband wasn't keen, but he's a full English person (and said it was the best full English he's had so far)!.
They serve tea in a teapot. Again a winner with me. As a tea lover, I really detest the breakfast places which serve tea in small cups so you have to order two.
Service was quick. Very affordable food. Would easily cost more elsewhere for this quality. Very clean place. Toilet very clean too.
Only minor feedback... they brought the toast before the breakfast. Toast get cold quickly, so I would have preferred for them to be brought out with or right after. And they missed the memo on service with a smile. Both easily fixable.
Would highly recommend, and we'll be...
Read moreRude staff, i was forced into tipping!! My 2nd time eating their roast dinner, Was not great this time round. There was an optional extra with the roast dinner to add Roast potatoes which i done the first time round, I was told they dont allow that anymore but it was still on the menu. I expressed that the first time i visited they allowed it, could you allow it this time round as thats the reason i came. She spoke to the manager and they allowed it. There was also the "Kings Dinner" that i wanted but was told they dont make it anymore because it takes "too long to make". Why is it still on the menu? The time of payment comes, the bill came up to £96 with an option to tip 10% and 20%. I skipped that option as there was nothing to tip for, there was a fuss about extras and I didnt eat what i wanted to because they didnt want to take it off the menu. After pressing the skip, the waitress look at me and goes "your seriously going to skip after all the requests?" She takes the card machine from my hand and says "lets try that again". Me sitting there not knowing if shes joking or not with my entire family sitting right next to me have been put into such an awkward position and felt like i had to tip her after the scene she just caused. I felt like that was just rude, what if i didnt have enough money to tip? She would have just shamed me in front of everyone. Absolutely abysmal actions from the staff....
