I really love this café — it always has a great atmosphere and the staff are usually incredibly friendly. But unfortunately, today I had a strange and disappointing experience with the guy at the counter.

He manually typed the amount into the card terminal instead of processing it through the till, which immediately felt a bit off. At first, I didn’t think too much of it, but then I noticed that the price was higher than what was listed on the board. When I asked about it, he said the café had recently raised their prices but hadn’t updated the signage yet.

Then there was a mix-up with my order — even the barista got confused and made the wrong drink, because she assumed I’d ordered something else based on the price. The guy at the counter started making up a confusing explanation, and it was clear something wasn’t right.

After me, I saw the same thing happen with other customers — again, he manually entered the amount instead of putting it through the system. Even his colleagues looked surprised.

Just thought I’d flag this in case it needs to be looked into. Apart from that, the coffee was lovely as always — the barista (a very kind girl) made a great drink and was really warm...

Good latte, consistently, but the place feels a bit gritty and uncoordinated with decor, and consequently feels like it could be cleaner, but that's the only negative. I've been a few times and the coffee is always good, food has been nice but I'd say a good standard is expected for the dearer prices, and it is very popular with many customers just doing work and chatting. It's sometimes a sea of laptops when I look up, so getting a table can be a bit difficult, especially outside because it's busy. I never understood why you'd want to try and sit in a noisy coffee shop to do work when there are many quieter places... Unless you're just there to pretend to do work! But that seems to be why this place is so busy, because I've often seen the same people when I come in, thrn when I leave an hour later. The music is louder than expected, but you can still hold a conversation. There is an outside area at the back but never sat there. Brunch was of reasonable quality but again, you'd expect that at these prices.. But the eggs were only available till 4pm. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and that's another reason I'd...

Redemption Roasters in Angel is a lovely spot with a welcoming ambiance, though experiences can vary depending on seating. This was my second visit—on my first, I sat in their garden, which offered a more pleasant and spacious experience. Unfortunately, due to the colder weather this time, we opted to stay indoors, where the multiple levels were quite crowded, however we were lucky to find a spot. The coffee was enjoyable in flavor, though served lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, their breakfast selection is extensive, offering a variety of pastries, cakes and sandwiches. The portions are fair, and the taste is consistently good. One improvement I’d suggest is an upgrade to their seating. A woman sitting just ahead of me fell when her chair gave way, and I was able to catch her. Thankfully, she was fine, but sturdier seating would definitely be a plus. Overall, I look forward to returning on a sunny day to enjoy the garden area, where the atmosphere is even more enjoyable...

@redemptionroasters - Located on the edge of Camden Passage, Redemption Angel has high ceilings and large windows creating a light-filled space, an outdoor seating area tucked away from the busy high street and! And! A hidden basement with ancient Greek vibes 😍👏🏼✨️ The floor is covered with white tiles, and on the walls, large mirrors reflect the intricate wall decoration made of pieces of sculptures, elements of cast iron decorations and everyday objects. The perfect hideaway from the buzzing city life. ✨️ About Redemption Roasters ✨️ They are the first prison based coffee company. What does that mean? > They are working closely with HMP (His Majesty's Prison) The Mount and train residents in barista, coffee production, and roasting to help them find employment after being released. This helps reduce reoffending and getting back to prison again.
