The context for any review of Riverhouse has to be the cost. You’d struggle to eat lunch for less than £100 a head. On the plus side, a table on the terrace overlooking the Thames is delightful. However. Service is pretty chaotic. No one in the bar when we arrived. Lovely, efficient waitress from Romania for half the meal, but someone completely different half way through. As she said, my shift is over. Fancy organising shifts that don’t cover a complete meal! The food is very average. So called ‘beer bread’, over baked and tiny, is completely unsuited to the food served. A simple baguette would be much better. The scallops were seriously overcooked - shrunk to roughly a fifth of their original size. The burrata was fine but the ‘heritage’ tomatoes were just poor. Freezing cold and tough. The gnocchi were a highlight but I’m guessing these were bought in, rather than made on site. The cheese board, for £18 was simply fraud! Ice cold cheese of poor quality, drowned in equally poor ‘pickles ’. And honestly, who puts strawberries on a cheese board? To be fair, there are great alcohol free options for non drinkers and the wine list is great. But we strongly recommend taking a picnic and sitting on a bench by the river. Same view and save yourself £200. Very sad that places like this are still around, fleecing customers and giving...

Roberto and Ivan been outstanding and very kind with their time to explain and serve.
The venue needs more exposure , everyone needs to know about this place…it’s gorgeous and has a delicious menu! Everything is made in house , everything.
They have a beautiful terrace and a garden to relax in. There is a tree outside that is the home of few parrots!
The interior is classy and very breathable. They have one of the biggest collections of Penguin books.
It can be an working space where you can come and network as well.
They have plenty events going on and they even do open days to come and check it out. It’s a very famous wedding venue.
This evening for example, I will attend a wine session. I understand that every 2 Fridays they have Dj nights as well.
It’s refreshing to see venues that have a strong identity and class A members of staff.
Thank you for such a genuine experience! See you...

The service was great, very attentive staff.
The building has been lovingly decorated and if you’re lucky enough to be seated by a window, you’ll get some great peaceful views of the river.
Overall food was good. We were eating from a set menu, so had the choice of 3/4 dishes for each course. To note, as a vegetarian/vegan, your options are more limited. With there only actually being one vegan friendly item on the menu.
I believe the pastry on the wellington being undercooked (it had no crisp/flakiness to it), and wasn’t a massive fan of the truffle cashew cream (personal preference). The other diners enjoyed their main dishes - the Brixham fish, Welsh lamb rump and the organic beef.
Would definitely return to sample their à...
