Stayed a few hours here while we had a conference across the road. This is a lovely modern pub but with that 'Victorian' feel due to the use of tasteful shades of grey in the decor and furnishings. It's small on the outside but big inside and comfortable, across two floors with free Wi-Fi and 'gentlemen's facilities' that would rival a 5* hotel!. It's typically 'London Prices' for a wide selection of specialist beers and lagers but £4 for a pint of Fosters isn't bad when you consider you could pay more than that in some Manchester establishments where I live. The bar team are really friendly and lively. I look forward to going here again. Please fix the main door to the mens bathrooms so it closes properly, the reflection in the mirror over the faucet means anyone passing can see you...
Read moreThe Thai menu is short and sorry, and the food hardly matches the descriptions. We couldn't tell the difference between the veg and meat spring rolls. Everything has broccoli though, so at least you're getting one of your five a day. The Thai food was served with a knife and fork rather than the traditional fork and spoon. Our poor waiter had no idea which dishes she was bringing to the table half the time, and the timing was off enough to have part of the table starting at their finished plates while others were still waiting for theirs. All in all, this place seems to be fit for beer and beer only....
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for some Thai food and saw this on Google and were a bit apprehensive seeing that it was also a pub. Walking in we were immediately greeted by the guys behind the bar, even when they had a number of customers they were serving, and asked what drinks they can get for us. We were clearly confused on where the Thai restaurant was and the guy was very friendly and showed us the way to the stairs and we took our drinks upstairs. The restaurant had just the chef to cook and wait tables and he was very friendly and the food tasted great. A bit weird when you're not expecting that setup with the pub but once we were there we loved it. Again, super friendly bar and chef upstairs and we felt very welcomed and comfortable the...
