DO NOT ORDER TAKEAWAY OR DESSERT! This is the second time we have ordered takeaway from this place, and unfortunately, it is still a major disappointment. The first time we tried them was shortly after they transitioned to Taiwanese cuisine. We ordered a few savoury snacks along with the Tri-Colour Taro Ball Grass Jelly dessert. While the savoury food was acceptable, the dessert was a total letdown. It looked nothing like the photo on the menu—no red beans, fewer than five taro balls (all the same colour), and overall felt like a scam. I was so shocked I even took a photo at the time, but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they might still have been adjusting their menu, and didn’t leave a negative review. So we gave it another try today and ordered the Mango Pomelo Sago with mini pearls. Once again, what we received was barely recognisable. There were only two small pieces of mango, undercooked mini pearls with no chewy texture, very little sago, and almost no pomelo. I understand that takeaway items may not look exactly like dine-in presentations, but this goes far beyond that. The portion sizes and overall quality are completely different from what is shown on the menu. It feels like they are cutting corners for takeaway customers, assuming we will not notice until we get home. That is not just disappointing—it is dishonest.

This restaurant is located in a growing town that needs more amenities and due to its excellence it is already the shining star. It is tucked away in the Royal Wharf square near the local mini-supermarket. It is small in size, but big in everything else. The decor is beautifully chic with lovely pink seats on the inside with a designer home feel with equally nice flooring and a marble table. The servers are nicely dressed and great your warmly. They provide an explanation of the menu and dishes. Despite having only the temporary menu available it was a delightful dining experience. The dim sum assortment was a visual display and excited the tastebuds. The crispy chilli beef and Hong Kong-style noodles were plentiful in size and taste. The wine selection though limited in stock provided an excellent bottle of white wine. There was no dessert option, but this may come once the full menu is available. The prices are reasonable for dining out. As a local diner, it is nice to have excellence close to home and not have to travel to Central London. A star of a restaurant is born.

EDIT: I’m not sure what happened to this place but the delivery order I received today was quite bad. I had the pork dim sum, squid and duck. The duck was so dry I really couldn’t finish it. The squid did not feel fresh, very chewy. The best thing of the whole order was the fried rice which was not too bad, but you’d have to try really hard to mess this up. I’m quite sad and disappointed as ordered twice before from this place and was really happy and impressed then. Won’t be ordering again BEST CHINESE EVER! I ordered from the restaurant via deliveroo last night and it was absolutely delicious! 🤤 Very nicely packaged, arrived still hot. The food looked beautiful and felt healthy and balanced (which is not the usual experience I would have with Chinese takeaway). I strongly recommend as a treat on a weekend night. I’m already planning to visit the restaurant and try it there as from the pictures it looks amazing. Not at all surprised by the high rating. Recommended to all my friends already 🤩
