Sally Clarke's shop — Restaurant in London

I'm a regular customer for 3 years now. Very friendly staff, great Galette des Rois every year in January, good bread and desserts. I also miss the canelés, perfectly cooked. But there is one thing I do not understand : the "pain au chocolat", and the "croissant". They are is officially the worst I've ever had in my entire life. They never make it good. Every time it is old, dry, never fresh, and hard to bite it. Maybe it is good when it's just out of the oven. But a pain au choc or a croissant should never be served the day after it is made. I come from a small town in France, and even the worst bakery can nail a croissant or a pain au chocolat. Please serve fresh ones, not after 24 ou 48 hours, please. I keep dreaming one day they'll make it and serve it the way it's supposed to taste and feel in mouth....

Amazing delicious food & best of all, really fabulous service. Nothing too much trouble, including leaping into action to open the doors for the less mobile.

A really delightful young ?Japanese woman helped me very much last time which was greatly appreciated, and today I had a wonderful hot chocolate made just how I requested by a charming young ?German chap, plus many delicious cakes to take away, all beautifully packed up for me!

Also had a wonderful drink made last week by the brilliant regular dark haired female barista, and the lovely lady with the very chic round black glasses incredibly kindly went on a safari all over the building for me to dig out the hessian bags I was looking for.

Highly recommended and just wonderful, and as for the Mince Pies - they are...

Lovely shop with gorgeous looking desserts. Everything laid out in the serving counters looked great. We were about to purchase some of our favourite desserts when we noticed a fly slowly savouring one dessert after another. Informed the staff there but they just said oh and did nothing as the fly went from one dessert to another. In the end, we just purchased those desserts which were covered up or wrapped up. I hope their kitchen staff are more hygiene conscious about the food they serve. Those desserts we purchased taste great and we would like to come back to purchase more but are hesitant to do so as their staff seem to not mind flies...
