If you're on the lookout for a culinary journey that promises authentic Italian flavours in the heart of Kensington, then San Pietro Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria is your destination. Nestled in a cosy corner of the neighbourhood, this charming restaurant not only offers Halal food but also prides itself on delivering exceptional service with warm Italian hospitality.
Upon stepping into San Pietro, my companions and I were greeted by Giuseppe and his attentive team, whose dedication to ensuring a delightful dining experience was palpable from the start. The restaurant exudes a welcoming ambience, making it perfect for families and friends alike.
Now, let's delve into the highlight of our evening – the food. San Pietro offers a diverse menu featuring a plethora of Italian classics, each dish crafted with care and authenticity. Our culinary adventure began with a variety of appetizers, from Zucchina fritte to Vitello Tonnato. Each bite hinted at the culinary mastery awaiting us.
However, the true star of the night revealed itself when we indulged in the homemade beef lasagne. Layers of delicate pasta enveloped a rich and flavorful meat sauce, crowned with a blanket of gooey cheese. With every forkful, I was transported back to the cobblestone streets of Italy, savouring the timeless comfort of a classic lasagne made with love.
Of course, no Italian feast is complete without a sweet conclusion, and San Pietro did not disappoint. We savoured every spoonful of their homemade tiramisu, a heavenly combination of delicate ladyfingers soaked in espresso and layered with luscious mascarpone cream. It was the perfect finale of an evening filled with culinary delights.
As we bid farewell to San Pietro Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria, I couldn't help but reflect on the hidden gem we had discovered. From the outstanding service provided by Giuseppe and his team to the delectable dishes that left us longing for more, our experience was nothing short of memorable. Whether you're craving a taste of Italy or simply seeking a cosy spot to enjoy a family-friendly meal, San Pietro is a must-visit destination that promises to satisfy both your palate...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the recent dining experience my family and I had here. We have been loyal customers for several years, but our latest visit was extremely unsatisfactory, and the customer service we received was unacceptable. I have always enjoyed the spaghetti vongole here and it has consistently been excellent. However, during our recent visit, the vongole I ordered was overcooked and tasted like it was simply pasta with oil. Additionally, the vongole was not served in the shell, which led me to believe it was frozen. I politely requested that the dish be redone, but after a long wait, the replacement was identical to the first. By this time, everyone else at our table had finished their meals. I took one bite and returned the dish as it really was not pleasant to eat. When I spoke to the manager, I was informed that they had tasted the dish and found it to be satisfactory. This response was disappointing, as a restaurant should prioritize the satisfaction of its paying guests. As a result, I left the restaurant and purchased a sandwich from across the street. As I have two small children under the age of three, I brought the sandwich inside with me so as to not leave them for too long. Instead of being apologetic for the substandard meal, I was told that I had to go outside. I would like to point out that there was no one else in the establishment but us. To add to the frustration, we were charged £30 for the pasta dish that I did not eat. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues we encountered to prevent similar experiences for other customers...
Read moreAs Italian restaurants go this is truly a strange one. Went for lunch mid week with work colleagues. Place was empty with 5 people working there 4 behind the bar as chefs and one serving tables. Firstly I think that the place is tiny and even more so because there is an absolutely enormous kitchen area in the middle of the room with a few tiny tables scattered around. The tables seem to be bolted on the floor which is not helpful. Anyway we ordered 3 pizzas, 2 beer and 2 small bottles of water. It took a very long time to get the pizzas, circa 30 mins, which I don’t understand at all with the place empty and 4 of them turning their thumbs in the kitchen area. Anyway, we got the pizzas which were overcooked below and raw on top. It was not the worse I had but not something I would repeat. The truly horrible aspect of this place is the service. The person there was rude, impatient and really not interested in our dining experience. We wanted to order coffees instead she brought us the bill, which we did not ask for, that is a cardinal sin in such a posh place. The bill came at a monstrous 87 quid… for having eaten badly, waited for a long time and treated disrespectfully. Frankly I will never even consider this place again. The two stars are for the very good ingredients they have and the cleanliness of the place which is incredibly high. Anyway. There is better around...
