Excellent value for money, great location, good service - just a few kinks to be ironed (February 2018)
Let me start by saying this is the best value for money I've ever had for a hotel in central London. I don't know whether we got a luckily-non-busy weekend but my husband and I paid an average of 112 GBP/night (prepaid non-changeable rate, breakfast not included) for a double room from Thursday through Sunday at a fully 4* hotel in an extremely well communicated and nice part of London.
We sent an email in advance asking nicely for a king-size room and they graciously complied with their smallest king-size room but still, it was a free upgrade and much appreciated.
Mind you, the room is TINY (which you would gather anyway by reading the description on their website, no false advertising here), but we didn't need more since our weekend was planned for being out and about. Still despite the very small size of the room and bathroom they manage to squeeze in a (European) king-size bed, desk and chair, luggage holder, closet, and full shower. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated, everything was quite new and toiletries were very good quality, from L'Occitane. Two small gripes about the room:
We used room service twice, for a dinner and a breakfast. Except for the burger and fries, the rest of the things we ordered were quite disappointing, although edible. I made a comment on checkout Sunday morning regarding the French toast, so that they could improve it, and when we came back to pick up our bags and head to the airport a few hours later the operations manager made himself known and let me know they had refunded that dish to my card. That wasn't at all the intention behind my constructive comment but the gesture was nevertheless appreciated.
To summarise, it's a very good 4 star hotel in a great spot, and staffed by people who genuinely seem to take pride in doing their job well. I would definitely recommend it and I hope to come back next time I go...

I had the most wonderful 6-night stay at Hotel Xenia London, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for as a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member. Mr. Paolo Guarini, the General Manager, and his exceptional team went above and beyond at every step, and their passion, professionalism, and warmth truly made my stay unforgettable.
The property is impeccably maintained, with a modern elevator and attention to every detail that immediately makes you feel at home. Housekeeping was flawlessâalways replenishing water, providing my preferred LâOccitane toiletries, and happily accommodating my request for a small fridge for my medication. Breakfast quickly became a highlight, with the Eggs Benedict Royale perfectly prepared every morning. I especially want to commend Alejandro, the restaurant manager, who from day 2 onward personally ensured my breakfast experience was flawless, and Albino, who always welcomed me with the best cappuccino. My favorite outdoor table, with my Americano and sweetener ready, made every morning feel truly special.
What impressed me most was how the team treated feedback as a gift. On day 1, my breakfast experience wasnât perfect, but after sharing my thoughts, Mr. Guarini personally addressed it with the team, and Alejandro and his team ensured perfection for the remainder of my stay. Meeting Mr. Guarini on my last day, I could see firsthand how much he genuinely cares about guest experiencesâit was thoughtful, gracious, and sincere.
A particularly memorable moment was when my stay needed to be extended by a day due to a flight changeâMr. Guarini made it happen within minutes, keeping the same room and rate. This level of care and attention makes a guest feel truly valued.
While not the cheapest Marriott in London, the value, service, and genuine kindness of the team make every penny worthwhile. They donât just recognize Platinum Elitesâthey anticipate your needs and make you feel truly at home. Next time, I hope to enjoy the swimming pool, sauna, and fitness facilities, which I know can be arranged via the Concierge team.
