This was my favorite place to visit in London. I was traveling alone and booked a seat at the bar and can absolutely recommend it. I was greeted by the incredibly friendly Alessandro who made me feel so welcome. He was incredibly attentive and introduced me to a few other staff members: Zach, Matt, Penny and Greg. Greg and Alessandro were working the bar and can be easily considered masters of multi-tasking; while having a chat with me, they were still able to take and make orders (especially when it started to ramp up).
I started with a Black Fruit Fizz Salad which was refreshing and could easily be considered a perfect summer drink; the tequila doesn’t overpower the rest of the drink and if you enjoy a passion fruit forward beverage, get a couple of these in ya. I had a Tarzan after which was just as delightful and fruity as the Black Fruit; I’m not usually a big fan of Campari but the combo of curaçao and gardenia mellows out the flavor of it. I indulged in the crispy turnip cake with soy cured egg yolk which knocked my socks off!
I closed out my evening with a dirty martini which was made perfectly by Gregg (and Alessandro with the olive assist). Most people would consider this a great “date night” spot but if you are going alone, I recommend striking up a conversation with any of the staff. Not only were they kind and accommodating but they had some incredible recommendations which I incorporated into the rest of my trip....
Read moreSeed Library is an absolute gem, relaxed, effortlessly cool, dripping in 1960s charm. The vibe is laid-back, but intentional, and the cocktail menu is unique and inventive. One cocktail even included pancreatic enzymes from sheep!
As a pregnant woman, I was thrilled to find several nonalcoholic options both on and off menu. Our server Zach was phenomenal, he obviously knew the menu very thoroughly and helped us in selecting drinks that matched our taste and preferences. The bartenders crafted a bespoke mocktail just for me using non-alcoholic aged spirits from Sylva Labs, a new brand experimenting with wood-aged zero proof spirits. It was honestly the most “cocktail-like” mocktail I’ve had. Not only did Zach provide the recipe and tell me about the Sylva brand, but he also gave me a bottle of Sylva Hazel to take home since it’s not yet available in the states. My friends and I were floored by that thoughtful and generous gesture.
If you’re in London and appreciate creativity, flavor and exceptional hospitality this is a must-visit. I’ll be recommending Seed Library to all my friends...
Read moreLovely atmosphere and the drinks were delicious, but my god is the music loud. Our group could barely hear each other talk. The noise made it feel more like a club than a bar. We did ask the bar staff to turn down the music (which we’ve never done in a bar before) and the DJ did, for which we were grateful for. We would recommend that you avoid sitting in the corners of the bar where I think the speakers are located. I also requested for the waiters to take a picture of our group, but I was ignored (it felt like on purpose with bar staff avoiding eye contact) several times or told multiple times that they would come back to take a photo (and they never did). I appreciate the bar staff are very busy but I’m sure they can occasionally spare 5 - 10 seconds to take a photo and make someone’s experience feel more enjoyable and pleasant, especially when you’re paying so much for the drinks / ambience. It just felt very rude...
