I visited this place on a YouTube recommendation. Visited on 03/09/22. The Shawarma wrap was 5 stars. The manager on duty was hospitable and friendly. Especially when I told about my partner's food intolerances. His diet is gluten free. Based on my previous experience there we visited on 08/09/22. To sit in. What a big mistake. The waiter didn't write down our request. I asked that my partner's food be free of cross contamination of wheat products. I asked for chips and salad. Plus a side request of a portion of nan bread. When our lamb shawarma main arrived. My partner was covered with the lamb wrap. Which is WHEAT. The lamb was the small f-you portions. The scrag ends, fatty, gristle pieces on supposed lamb spread out on our plates to make it look like there was alot of food. My partner got his chips. I didn't and had to request it again after the waiter said that I didn't order any. He didn't write anything down. The lamb, if you could call it that was the complete opposite of Saturday's. Feel like I have been cheated by being served a poor substitute of a meal. Made me question if race came into play this time around. I didn't get my order of nan bread. The other table got it on top of what they already had. Got an upset stomach now. Goodness knows how my partner will be feeling by this evening. Therefore we will not be visiting here again. 9/9/22 In response to (owners) response. I came to your restaurant in good faith. Along with my husband. Never have I had to constantly apologize for your own staff poor service and poor food. Other customers meals looked great but as an interracial couple, we didn't get treated like all the other customers. The answer is no thank you to the discount offer. Shame on you for our first visit sitting in. Would be shame on us if we were stupid enough to visit a second time....
Read moreIftar at Shawarma King, was the worse Iftar experience ever. The space in the restaurant was limited , meaning people were bumping into each other when getting up to the buffet table. The buffet table was so small it took ages for people to get their food. Everyone had to get up at the same time even when they came early, meaning that there was a rush and people didn't break their fast on time. There was no water or dates on the table just a measly water container which we are asked to fill up with plastic cups at the buffet table, I have my elderly parents at the table. we had to request for a water bottle, which was warm. This is basic customer service, people are fasting are extremely thirsty and require lots of water. I wouldn't have mind waiting for food if their was at least water at my table. There was only around 20 guests yet the food kept running out even on the first sitting and refill was taking ages (i managed just about to try some shawarma, it being a shawarma place and all!). The food was ok but not for the price paid. Would have expected a lot better. This was my first iftar with my family and they were very disappointed!
If you do decide to go after reading this and hoping for meat shawarma at shawarma king, you will be disappointed to hear there is only chicken...
Read moreCame here 12 years ago and this shop has really gone downhill since its last owner Faisal. The main highlights were the grilled chicken cubes and trio of sauces. Didn’t notice too much love going into the food. Ordered grilled chicken which comes in cubes and lamb shawarma.
Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Came sizzling but was a bit dry, nothing special
Lamb shawarma ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Overcooked, not fresh
Naan bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Tasted fresh
Trio of sauces ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The best sauces I’ve tasted in a long time and complemented the dishes: Chilli, chutney and garlic. I would come here just for the naan and sauce
Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Overpriced for what they were worth
Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A bit toasty, visible sign of AC unit but wasn’t turned on given the weather conditions. It was 17:00 and the shop was empty, hardly any customers.
Hospitable owner but wouldn’t ever return here...
