I have been here 4 times in the past 2 weeks, usually service is great, I wanted to treat my cousin to some dinner and a drink after closing my art show nearby. I ordered food which is always lovely, we ordered ginger bread sake, they bought it to the table, I asked them for two glasses instead of one which they initially gave me. After finishing our cocktails I went to pour out the sake which had nothing in it, I told the staff that and they took it back to the Asian lady with short black hair at the drinks counter who I’ve encountered a few times and was very friendly in the past. She proceeded to say I drank the sake in front of everyone that’s why there was no liquid in there right in front of us numerous times, I felt embarrassed, there is absolutely no reason at all why I would do that especially on a table that faces her directly. The staff I told smelled the cup there was no smell considering the ginger bread alcohol scent they would have smelt if it had been in there. Even the shot glasses, the little bit of liquid that came out one of the staff members dipped her finger in it and tasted it she said it was water ( point proven) . They in my opinion looked afraid go against her and I heard one of them tell her not to worry about it. Maybe she’s a manager? And I found it extremely horrible that she would not look me in the eye but continually accused me for drinking the drink to the staff and that I was trying to request another for free. She was shaking her head like she wanted me to feel shame for something I didn’t do. It really ruined my experience, especially with my cousin who doesn’t travel due to a back injury she ended up blaming herself for bringing bad luck to a place I went to many times. She offered ‘another drink’ as if I drank the first, I ended up saying to just forget it and told them to take it off the bill. Next time ‘COWARD’ who couldn’t even look me in the eye or smell the glass, get security cameras installed or if you have them check them. I left feeling crazy to be accused of something I didn’t do and feeling embarrassed by something that could of been rectified easily and...
Read moreI had have 3 experiences here and it seems to be getting worse. Came for food on Sunday night. It was packed, lovely girl said it would take 10-15 mins for seating which was fine. When we finally got our seats we were ignored for 10 mins until I waved down a chap named Ken.
Ken spoke too fast, didnt pay attention and didnt have a clue. We ordered our food. Ken came back on two occasions (5min gap each time) to advise the item was sold out. Slow much...
We finally were able to get an order in. 20 mins later no food had turned up. Not even the salad!
I chase down Ken (again) and a short while later he brings pork noodles to my table. My order was fish noodles and a vegetarian dish.
Ken says sorry and disappears. 4 mins later his colleague comes over to my table to again present the pork noodles!
I explain I ordered the fish, she apologises and disappears.
15 mins of nothing and I then flag down the young girl who greeted me when I came in (she had her head screwed on). I explain what has happened. She apologises and offers to look into this.
The manager then comes over, apologises and promises to have all the food within 5 mins.
The next time we see Ken, he tells us the Kitchen is closing so last chance to order - not from you mate!
We finally finish and recieve our bill. They deducted 5 from a £40 bill and didn't charge service.
The waitress explains this to me. I am thinking there was no service and what about the fact I had wasted nearly an hour there.
Paid the bill in disgust. Will never go there again and strongly recommend anyone else from wasting thier time.
Food was disappointing. Seaweed salad had little seaweed and was packed with wasabi. Fish was hard like leather. The only food here worth eating is the buns and yakitori sticks.
Beware and save your...
Read moreThe atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely, but I was let down by the food.
I ordered the pumpkin bao bun, and unfortunately, I burnt my palate. The bun itself felt lukewarm when I touched it, but the pumpkin korokke inside was extremely hot, like it had just come out of the fryer. It would have been much better if the kitchen had let it cool slightly before serving, or at least warned me to be careful. It’s surprising to have such a big contrast between the bun and the filling. Sadly, the taste also wasn’t very memorable, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
To make matters worse, my palate is now very sensitive, so I can’t really enjoy food at the moment, which is quite disappointing.
The spicy vegan white natural ramen was nice, but not actually spicy. It would have been good to have condiments like chili oil or chili flakes on the table so diners can adjust the heat level. The tofu in the ramen didn’t add much—it was quite bland and could be improved or swapped for something with more flavor.
The yuzu chocolate cheesecake was tasty , and the addition of ice cream really helped, though I think ice cream should be included in the price rather than added separately, as the dessert feels a bit overpriced otherwise.
I was also surprised when the extra ramen toppings I ordered were served on the side rather than in the bowl. A cold egg yolk alongside warm ramen didn’t really work.
On top of that, I registered for the loyalty card but never received a confirmation email, so I couldn’t actually use it during my visit. Strangely enough, they had no problem sending me advertising emails straight away.
Overall, I wasn’t very impressed with the food here compared to other branches, though the service and atmosphere...
