Read moreWe reserved but the place never responded to the booking. We phoned and were told our reservation went through and just walk in. We were met by an excellent waiter, but the bar staff made a song and dance about bookings and tried to shove us in the back without tables. After a bit of song and dance, we finally got seated in
Price for cocktails is 16GBP for a pretty standard list of options with beers being 7GBP and a single being a minimum of 10GBP. This would be fine but the ranges were quite limited.
The food was bad at best, the menu was really limited despite what the Google reviews seem to suggest. Pretty much fish and chips or a burger. The burger was overcooked and rubbery, and comes in at 19 GBP.
On the postive, the waiter was really friendly and accommodating, and everyone was nice to the dog that we had with our party.
I think with a bit better management of reservation, some better seating options and a better menu this place would be a much higher rating. The food options need to be improved if going for either bar food or restaurant status, and if going for cocktail bar, a lot stronger cocktail offering would go a long way.
As it stands, unless you are a guest walk to...
Read more[Visited Sat, 10th October from 345 to 515] My husband and our mini sausage dog (well trained showdog I must add as it pertains to the story) Chose this bar solely because it is advertised as dog-friendly. Their website even displays dogs sitting at the bar, drinking from a Dog Menu etc. Around 430 when I went out front for a cigarette, i walked past the establishment, down the road for my dog to relieve himself, and walked back. Approaching the door, the doorman stopped me and said, "You better not let your dog pee on this"! (It was a flower pot near the entrance by the sidewalk). I was a bit taken aback at this odd rudeness, and unnecessary comment, especially for a bar full of dogs. (I cant imagine what he might have said to the giant german shephard inside sitting on one of the leather seats..) I assured him he would do no such thing, as I had just walked down the road with him. It was very offputting and we left shortly after. We had a RSVP to eat there but we decided to go to a nearby restaurant...
