The Best Spice Hut in the UK – 5 Stars!

If you’re looking for incredible food, exceptional service, and a place that genuinely cares about its customers, look no further than Spice Hut in Plashet Grove, Upton Park.

I’ve been to several Spice Hut branches across the UK, but this one is, without a doubt, the best of them all. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure every customer leaves satisfied.

Now let’s talk about the food – absolutely amazing. Everything is packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, and served fresh and hot. Whether it’s the grilled items, the burgers, or the signature peri-peri chicken – you can taste the quality in every bite. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and actually care about presentation and taste.

The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Even during busy hours, the staff handle orders efficiently without compromising on service. It’s rare to find a fast-casual restaurant that delivers both speed and quality, but Spice Hut nails it.

I’ve recommended this spot to friends and family, and everyone agrees – this branch sets the standard for how all Spice Huts should be run.

5 stars, without a doubt. If you’re anywhere near Upton Park, do yourself a favour and drop in. You won’t be...

Me & my family went here this evening and was pleasantly surprised!

The food we ordered was; 3 spicy lamb doner, 1 chicken doner (all meals), lamb doner meal, 20 spicy wings & 6 naga wings.

Lamb doners were excellent, good portion size, good to perfection, plenty of onions & spices, however slightly disappointed with the chicken doner as it actually wasn’t chicken doner, but chopped chicken fillet cooked in the onion & spices.

Lamb chops were very good, grilled to perfection, not too chewy, not too over cooked, full of flavour & marinated in the best spices & herbs!

Chicken wings were decent, they weren’t small & weren’t too big, just the perfect size. The taste was good, enough pepper & salt, but maybe too much paprika in the seasoning!

However, Naga wings were extremely disappointing! 6 naga wings costing £3 is ok price, but if I’m paying more for them I should expect them to be piping hot, fresh & full of flavour, but for some reason they were already pre cooked, when served they got reheated & not enough flavour.

I told the young brother that works there & he replaced them for free, however they were just reheated ones again, which was just annoying.

If it weren’t for the minor mistakes they’d have...

To start with, I have been to this chicken 🐔 shop many times before. It's a great spot, very vibrant overall, with customers coming in and out. Today I did not have the best service, as once I went inside the shop, the staff taking orders behind the counter had its back towards the client's coming in and was talking to another staff and seemed distracted, I had to call him twice before he actually started taking my order, which was kinda off putting. I then proceeded, ordering my 2x of 6 wings and chips and 1x of 3 wings and chips and 3x 7ups. The gentleman kindly told me that they boycotted some brands for solidarity purposes towards the Palestinian Cause, which was awesome. Therefore, we chose an alternative lemonade (really good). The food was ready in 7/8mins and was served in the table promptly. Every table had its own bottles of sauces. They were very generous with the chips and already pre salted (classy), and the chicken looked and tasted good but a bit dry, therefore, we went full on with sauces. I would say the quality of wings has decreased a bit compared to before. Also, it became quite pricey as for the whole order we paid over £16. I would go back, but there are surely other chicken shops...

When you need greasy food Spice Hut is the place to go! This branch in particular needs to improve in comparison to its sister branch in East Ham. I can tell you now the East Ham branch has tastier chicken that Green Street. Nevertheless this branch doesn't dissapointment so much it does the job in filling a hole with plenty of room for improvement. They're chicken biriyani with chickpeas (chana) is awesome. Pictures below.

I recently ordered the lamb biryani from Spice Hut, and honestly, it didn’t meet my expectations. The flavor was quite average, and the meat wasn’t as tender or well-seasoned as I hoped. The rice lacked the rich aroma and spice balance that a good biryani should have. Portion size was okay, but overall, it felt a bit disappointing considering the price. Hopefully, they can improve the quality and taste in the future.
