My recent visit to Subway Stratford left me deeply disappointed, not just with the quality of service, but also with the evident mistreatment of employees. As a frequent customer, I have always valued Subway's commitment to fresh ingredients and customer satisfaction. However, my most recent encounter shed light on a darker aspect of this store.
The atmosphere inside the store was tense, with employees appearing visibly stressed and overworked. Despite this, they struggled to maintain a semblance of professionalism. The lack of adequate staffing was apparent. There's this one manager sat at the back who was a complete bully, managed to glance his name tag. If you see "masud" RUN AWAY!
What struck me most was the evident disregard for employee well-being. It was evident that they were being pushed beyond their limits, with little regard for their health or basic needs. The management's failure to provide a supportive work environment is unacceptable.
Furthermore, the overall cleanliness of the store was subpar, with tables left uncleared and floors visibly dirty. It's disheartening to see such a decline in standards, especially considering Subway's reputation as a fast-food chain known for its hygiene and freshness.

Read moreI came here to take some lunch back to work a few days ago, when arriving I was met by 3 staff members who didnt have a clue about customer service, 2 were fiddling with phones. I was asked to pay for my meal before the cheese had even been toasted on my BMT Sub (it was not a Sub Serie Sandwich). The store was dirty and there were two flies buzzing around the prep area, the employees didnt seem to be bothered by this or the fact that there were no napkins and only a few dusty old bent up straws available. When I returned to the office, I found that they had forgot to pack my Meatball bowl and wrote a letter of complaint demanding a refund on the Meatball bowl I never received at the very minimum, for such a horrific experience. A customer service department rep named Jahungir Khan responded "apologising" for my bad experience and stating "Subway aims to exceed customer expectations" I then explained that I demanded a refund for the meatballs I had paid for and not received he only responded to "apologise" that I felt robbed and insulted. He then stated "Sub Series products are pre-set with salads and sauce for that particular Sub Serie Sandwich. Also, staff will offer options of cookie and crisps, unless a product ordered by customer is not available." What in cold hell is this supposed to mean? Just started assuming toppings I’d want and when challenged about this they told me it’s gonna be extra to get my own toppings (salad). I agreed to it as I was just wanted to leave and after that was done when it was time to wrap up my sub half the salad had fallen out the sub and onto the paper. I had politely asked the staff to just put it back in and then wrap the sub so that it’s not a mess and the salad is actually in my sub and not a separate meal. Staff proceeded to ignore my request until I had asked the 3rd time. After that he just decided to throw the sub in the bin and make a new one. Biggest waste of food as I had no problems with it I just wanted my sub to be in one piece. Staff were aggressive when challenged and the manager was no use also. Second sub they had made for me bread was as hard as a rock. Thought my teeth would break before the sub. Wanted to go back and show them but decided it would be no use due to the level of incompetence of the staff and I will be taking this up with higher leadership as staff need serious training on basic customer service and food preparation.
