I visited this restaurant today for the very first time! I had no idea that I was going to make a stop there. Had I'd known, I WOULD NOT have had a cup of coffee before I left my house! I sat outside, which had a nice transparent canopy surrounding the seating area, and the music being played coming from the speakers that i could not see was to my liking. There were two men already sitting outside having a drink/coffee. Not long after sitting outside, a waitress approached my table to tell me that I needed to make an order. Her tone in which she said this to me, made me respond in a manner that caused me to go inside and apologise to her for the way in which I responed to her, I would make an order, when i was ready. Whilst making a phone call, I decided I needed to go inside because the smell of the four customers outside smoking was making me feel sick. I explained this to the waitress inside and took a seat. After my telephone conversation was complete, I asked to use the toilet, to which I was told I could not unless I placed an order. I explained that I didn't want anything because I'd already had a coffee, and if I knew I was going there, I would not have had a coffee from home. The waitress was adamant that she could not let me use the toilet because her manager has said that customers are not allowed to use the toilet UNLESS they order something. After telling the waitress that I would order after I came out from the toilet, still she insisted I could not, even AFTER saying she and I were both females to try and persuade her to override her managers rule! I ordered a bottle of water which cost £2 but was not happy because I do not drink volvic and there was no other option available.
I noticed some oranges on the counter, so I asked for orange juice. I then asked the "chef" (man behind the counter, who told me he was not the chef) if the restaurant was Romainian, he said it wasn't, so I went on to ask him what it was. He said 🇧🇬. His tone wasn't very customer friendly, but I waited patiently whilst he squeezed my juice. I noticed that the man squeezed the juice from the machine into a cup before pouring it into mine. I asked him why he had done that, to which I was faced with the waitess who first approached me outside, along with another waitress and the "cheff" asking me WHY I was asking that question. I was very taken back by all three of their mannerisms towards me. I asked a simple question and got no answer apart from if I wasn't happy, I could get a refund to which I said no! I ended by paying £4.50 for an orange juice and the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced in a long time. I walked out of there, deciding not to even bother using their toilet. I forgot to mention earlier that the man behind the counter suggested I use the macdonalds toilet. This experience has made me ensure that not only will MY customers receive delicious food and drink, but EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I hope the owner of this business reads this message and changes his policy of no order, no toilet rule. It is...
Read moreThe food here is really delicious, especially the grilled beef tongue. However, it’s best to avoid coming during busy hours, otherwise you might encounter what can only be described as a disastrous level of abstract service.
On Christmas Day last year, when nearly every restaurant in London was closed, my friends and I stumbled upon this place and saw it was open. We ordered a few plates of grilled meat and drinks and it turned out to be amazing. So today, passing by the area, I brought some friends along to revisit it.
Unfortunately, this time we had a very different experience. One of the main dishes we ordered was clearly incorrect: the menu photo showed grilled lamb with fried rice, but we were served a plate of something like yoghurt sauce with fried rice instead. When we politely pointed this out to a waitress, she looked visibly annoyed and said, “Listen, we’re very busy right now. Just tell me if you still want this dish or not.”
My friend and I felt that if we said no, she would just take the dish away with the same impatience, leaving us sitting there with just a starter. So we told her to leave the dish and then approached another waitress. This second staff member quickly realised the mistake, took the dish away, and we then waited another 40 minutes before the correct main dish finally arrived.
Meanwhile, halfway through eating our main course, the staff realised she had forgotten to serve the beer we ordered. Then only after I reminded she realized the salad we ordered one hour ago hadn’t arrived either. And by the time we finally got the bill, the salad still hadn’t been served. It was only at this point that the first waitress finally said “sorry.”
To be fair, the food today was still quite tasty, but we were honestly left speechless by...
Read moreAs I arrived, I had high hopes. The place was busy with alfresco dining and good displays of food choices. I was hungry. I was on my own and not feeling the most confident that day, so I chose a seat away from crowds.
A young petite waitress asked me to move to a sear shared by other people, and I asked if it was ok if I sat where I was. She didn't explain why she wanted me there, but a taller male said it was ok.
The woman's attitude looked annoyed, and this created an atmosphere before I even ordered anything. I didn't want to deal with her, so I went to the guy to place my order, but he pointed me back to the lady, so I continued.
I ordered Lamb chops, with rice and salad, plus an English tea. As I was at my table, I was reading news off my phone. The waitress abruptly put placed my year in front of me, starting me. She did apologise when she realised, so that was good. I finished my tea but my food still hadn't arrived so I asked her to top it up with more water. Maybe she didn't hear me, but I saw her go back to the till to add a new order to my bill. I immediately told her I only wanted hot water. Her attitude was terrible. She cut her eye and made me feel like a cheapskate. I called her out on it and asked if there was a problem because of how she was behaving. I said I didn't want to be charged twice. She apologised and said she didn't hear me. Maybe that's true. However, I now felt attention on me in the whole store for a brief moment. I wanted to leave but I didn't want the restaurant to waste the food I ordered so I stayed. When the food arrived, it looked appetising! Sadly, it was very salty! If I had issues with high blood pressure, it would have caused me health problems. However, I chose to eat it to avoid...
