A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Omakase and Warm Hospitality

Tucked away from the bustling main streets, this sushi restaurant is a true hidden gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming staff who make you feel more like a guest than a customer.

The highlight here is undoubtedly the omakase menu—a thoughtfully curated journey through the freshest cuts of fish, seasonal delicacies, and artful presentation. Each course is a masterpiece, balancing traditional technique with creative flair. The chef's passion and precision are evident in every bite, and if you're seated at the counter, you're in for a mesmerizing front-row view of the craftsmanship.

Complementing the food is a carefully selected sake list that caters to both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers. The staff is more than happy to guide you through the options, offering pairings that elevate the omakase experience even further.

This spot strikes the perfect balance of refinement and approachability—a place where culinary excellence meets genuine hospitality. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just looking to treat yourself to something special, this restaurant is worth seeking out. Once you find it, you'll want to keep it your...

Izakaya Japan located on Haverstock Hill between Chalk Farm and and Belsize Park tube stations is one of the good but expensive local Japanese restaurants.

The sushi, sashimi and main dishes from Izakaya are fresh and tasty but the main dishes are expensive relative to the portion sizes. £10 for three pieces of Salmon Teriyaki (with no sides included) is expensive. In fact any Japanese restaurant that unknowingly makes Yo Sushi prices seem reasonable, must adjust their prices.

As for the sushi and sashimi, while the price are on the expensive side the quality is great - with six pieces ranging between £3.50 to £5.50. The good people at Izakaya will also charge you £0.10 for ordering chop sticks when choosing to have the food delivered. It seems a petty charge for a restaurant based in Belsize Park where the average food order is...

I can confidently say that I had the best sushi in London here. After the first bite, everything else becomes irrelevant - it’s just that good!

The place is really small with several tables and majority are bar tables. You can sit and watch them cooking. It has true Japanese vibes and is run by the Japanese family. All the staff and the owner are exceptionally welcoming and great.

During lunch time they provide the lunch menu - essentially sushi, sashimi or tempura that go together with salad and miso soup. The best!

Sake selection is really good. We had a taster plate with three options of 50ml and we liked all of them. When we paid the owner also gave us another sake portion for free, just because they are great.

Prices are good as for London. Overall it’s a fantastic local sushi place and I will...

Been here many times as it is one of the more authentic Japanese cuisine places around the area. Very lovely chef, the team is helpful but throughout my times here they sometimes made silly mistakes. Really helpful and nice people overall. Omakase was solid. Loved the freshness of the ingredients, and really really good portions. It is not an easy feat in London to leave a Japanese restaurant satisfied, grateful, and absolutely full.
