If you’re Indian and crave REAL, authentic Indian food—RUN, RUN FAR AWAY from Taste of Jaipur!
Let me start by saying this: Jaipur is in India, a city renowned for its rich, bold, and authentic flavors—from the fiery Laal Maas to the mouthwatering chaats. It is insulting to even associate the name “Jaipur” with the sweet, watered-down, inauthentic mess this restaurant serves. And to add to the irony—this place isn’t even run by Indians, but by Bangladeshi staff who clearly have zero understanding and connection to the culinary heritage of Jaipur.
I came here hungry and fasting, excited to break my fast with a comforting taste of home. What I got instead was disappointment served on a plate—and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
Let’s talk about the food—or whatever this was: Afghani Chicken Tikka—Or Should I Say, Boiled Chicken? We ordered Afghani Chicken Tikka, expecting juicy, creamy, and smoky pieces of marinated chicken. What did we get? Boiled chicken. That’s it. No flavor on it, no flavor in it—NADA. It was like they dipped plain chicken in warm water and called it a day. An absolute joke.
Sweet Chicken Lollipops—A Sugary Nightmare We also tried the chicken lollipops, hoping for the classic spicy, crispy delight. What arrived was chicken drowning in a sickly-sweet sauce—something better suited for a dessert menu. When we asked for a dry version for the kids, they smiled, said “OK,” and then… brought back the same sugar-coated disaster. I mean—WHAT IN GOD'S NAME is going on in that kitchen?
Flavors? None. Spices? Wait- what are they?! Every single dish we tried was whitewashed beyond belief—clearly catered to people who don’t know or understand Indian food. If you’re craving the bold, fiery, and complex flavors that Jaipur is famous for, don’t bother coming here - you’re better off cooking Maggi masala noodles at home—it’ll be closer to Jaipur’s flavors than anything served here.
Service? If You Like Being Ignored, You’ll Love It. The service was as bland as the food. We asked for a simple adjustment to our order—they ignored it and brought the same thing again. No care, no attention, and absolutely no apology.
Thank Goodness we only ordered Starters! If the starters were this bad, I can’t even imagine what the mains must be like. Thankfully, we had the sense to leave before subjecting ourselves to more of this culinary horror show.
I walked in hungry, and I walked out disappointed—and honestly? A little offended.
Zero stars if I could. 👎Absolutely not...
Read moreVery clever system they have going for positive reviews. I went on a Monday evening so was very quiet, I was the only one in restaurant alongside another person and ordered a chicken madras, waiter was friendly enough and said its spicy and is that ok, which was fine as i expected that with a madras.
Curry came vibrant red, and after quite a wait, I actually watched them waiting for a chef to come in and he kept looking through kitchen realising they had not started making anything. Madras was OK, very salty but tasted nothing like a madras so if you have expectations on taste then it’s not the one for you. I thought it was a chicken tikka massala at first and they got it wrong.
The clever bit comes at the end, they asked me if i wanted a complimentary drink, which I accepted thinking it was due to the wait but then they came straight over with a QR code for me to scan and give a review at that moment (this was before the bill). The bill came after and as I decided not to tip the whole temperament of the waiter change and he seems really angry. He actually came back over after paying and tapped on the review QR code again basically suggested I need to leave a good review.
Leaves me suspicious about the reviews, don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad it’s just OK and not what you would expect at all, taste wise and also 5 star review wise.

Read moreExcellent front of house service. I ordered some vegetarian dishes and they were searingly hot, all I could taste was the heat from the chilli and couldn't taste any of the flavour of the dishes - tarka dal, aloo gobi and okra. I explained to the waiter and he was very understanding and offered me a complimentary drink to take the heat from the chilli away and then offered to take the dishes back and get the chef to remake them without the chilli heat. The dishes that were returned were not searingly hot and we're very pleasant to eat. I don't hold it against the place, from time to time you get the odd chillis that are abnormally hot and I think this was just the case. Happens from time to time. Very impressed with how the waiter dealt with the complaint - very kind and very thoughtful. His name was Shaz.
(I later discovered that a previous customer had ordered the same dishes and asked for it to be extra hot, and so the chef put in Naga chilli pickles, hence the extreme heat! As I ordered the exact same, I assume some of the Naga chillis were...
