I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the behavior of the manager (bold guy in the video) at Wetherspoons. We have been loyal customers for many years and visited on two occasions on Saturday, December 16, 2023. During our second visit, we moved a table with the express permission of security staff to accommodate our group of seven. However, the manager's response to moving a table was nothing short of appalling.
The manager approached us in a rude and aggressive manner, shouting and treating the security staff with utter disrespect. This behavior was deeply shocking and completely unacceptable. It not only marred our evening but also created an uncomfortable and intimidating atmosphere for everyone involved. The manager's demeaning attitude towards employees, including potential racial undertones, was particularly disturbing.
We were particularly disturbed and saddened for the security personnel who were subjected to this unwarranted abuse. They were simply doing their job and trying to ensure a pleasant experience for all of us. Yet, they were met with hostility and disrespect from someone who is supposed to be their superior. It is unacceptable that they should be treated in this manner, and we hope that they will not be discouraged from continuing to do their best to serve the Wetherspoons community.
I believe that such behavior is completely incompatible with the expectations of a manager, especially at a well-respected establishment like Wetherspoons. It is essential that the company takes appropriate action to address this issue. Whether it be through proper training or a reconsideration of the manager's role, it is crucial to ensure that such unprofessional and offensive behavior is not tolerated.
We cannot, in good conscience, continue to patronize an establishment where managers abuse their power and mistreat their employees. Such behavior is antithetical to our values and principles, and we will not support businesses that condone it. We urge Wetherspoons to take heed of our concerns and address this...
Read moreUpon arrival The Restaurant was packed and the No clean empty tables so we had to sit in the mess of previous. So l ordered two separate orders (Alcoholic drink, Chicken Wrap on one bank card and alcoholic drink soft drink garlic bread and onion rings) (all Brandy was out of stock)I was only served one alcoholic drink and soft so had to go back and collect the other As he did not charge or take the order so I thought okay it happens , he said he was 21.Cool The garlic bread and onion rings was delivered to our table and I realise there was no Cutlery with my meal which I would have liked. I requested cutlery as I went to the bar and asked them to clean the table they said they will bring the cutlery over and do so. The man I spoke to at the bar came And spoke to another table very friendly and during this time my non-eating pork friend found a pork( not just a bite size - it’s not included in the menu) but it was obviously thrown in .. made me question the food quality behind the kitchen. So the gentleman came over as my friend called him to ask what this was on her plate the man said “it’s a bit of bacon” she was really upset by this and stated she does not eat pork and is not in the menu and would like another one I also asked him for my cutlery and to clean the table and he didn’t want to, the previous lady wee stopped said she will just take the plates away, as I have still been waiting on my feet was getting cold so I requested him for a new meal my food which he did. The onion rings with one loop of an onion which loosely came out of the batter ring. & when my friend asked to speak with the manager the gentleman is the manager !
Clearly My food was simply reheated.
I only visited London for the day and I am upset by how Wetherspoons place I appreciate they was busy however One of the staff members ignored my requests every think was a delay and I wanted to assist us to enjoying eating at the...
Read moreI've been here quite a few times and I've never really had a great experience. It's a fairly dated looking Wetherspoons and there's basically nowhere to stand without you blocking a corridor (and having drunk meatheads growling at you every five seconds as they walk past) so you have to try and sit at a table. It's usually quite busy so this involves hovering around waiting for somebody to leave, which often seems to lead to arguments. Anecdotal example: the last time I was here we were standing looking for a table, two 20 something girls got up, picked up their coats and bags, then walked off leaving nothing on the table/chairs. My friend and I sat down after a few moments, then two minutes later one of the girls ran back up and virtually screamed at us that "this is our table" and seemed to think we'd been completely out of order for sitting at a table that was entirely empty and had none of her personal belongings there to signify it was taken.
I digress, but the point is that this isn't really a pleasant place to go if you're just looking for a quiet drink as the layout is pretty annoying and the crowd it attracts leans toward the angry/unpleasant scale of the spectrum. One bar girl (American sounding) who I've been served by on a few occasions is also incredibly rude. Ask her anything (e.g. what sort of red wine do you have available) and she seems to treat it like a personal attack. In fact just order a drink and she seems to revel in being obnoxious for no apparent reason.
Overall: a place to be tolerated, not to be enjoyed, and there are plenty of other pubs in the nearby area that make more of an effort and attract a...
