Nestled in the heart of the town, The George pub exudes a charming aura, inviting both locals and travelers alike to indulge in a culinary journey like no other. As a connoisseur of fine dining, stepping into The George felt like entering a sanctuary of culinary delights. The ambiance exuded warmth, with a rustic yet elegant decor that set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was greeted with genuine hospitality, making me feel like an honored guest rather than just another patron. Now, let's talk about the pièce de résistance – the food. Oh, where do I begin? Each dish that graced my table was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to perfection. From the succulent roast chicken to the heavenly fish and chips, every bite was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. One cannot talk about The George without mentioning their impeccable selection of beverages. Whether you're a fan of traditional ales or prefer a crisp glass of wine, The George has something to tantalize every taste bud. But what truly sets The George apart is its commitment to inclusivity. Here, everyone is welcome, from families enjoying a Sunday roast to friends catching up over a pint. It's not just a pub; it's a community hub where memories are made and friendships are forged over shared plates and hearty laughter. In conclusion, my experience at The George was nothing short of extraordinary. From the delectable cuisine to the warm hospitality, it's clear why this establishment has earned its stellar reputation. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to The George – your taste buds will thank you. Cheers to you all

I don’t go out so much anymore, but I couldn’t resist a little visit to my favourite pub. The George. The staff were so nice and helpful. I was made immediately to feel at home. I had been to hospital that day. I would like Gareth, Alex and Sam to know how much their kind friendly manner meant to me. Thank you for cheering me up. Keep up the great service. I definitely will be back in the future. 💙💙💙 Marianne

Having frequented this establishment quite regularly over the past year, I now find myself forced into writing this review to emphasise how terribly downhill it has become fundamentally due to the abhorrent behaviours of the new management.

As a regular customer, prior to said new manager (I believe his name is Stuart) taking up his role in The George, I looked forward to going there be it for an after work pint, Sunday lunch, watch the football or just to simply show friends. In all honestly, the opposite is now true.

I have multiple examples of the detriment the new manager has brought to what was but can no longer be my local. Firstly, myself and my brother were treated with disrespect upon meeting him for the first time. My brother simply wanted to ask if his order could be brought outside but this Stuart literally waved him off as if he'd been asked a ridiculous request. That same evening I noticed his attitude towards members of staff. The attitude can only be described as condescending to say the least. The manner in which he spoke to multiple staff members was really sad to see. Shouting down to them, barking orders whilst clearly not leading by example.

Furthermore, I don't know what happened but as recent as winter through to spring I would enjoy a lovely Sunday roast and watch football. I'm no longer prepared nor allowed to do so now as I've literally seen mice run across the floor something I wouldn't even fathom happening prior to the new management.

Besides my brother and myself, other regulars I usually meet and conversate with have either began to frequent other pubs in the Belize park/Hampstead area or have made clear how terribly bad the atmosphere has become. I am currently of the latter and unfortunately due to all reasons mentioned above I am most likely to do the former unless there is a change in hierarchy.

Sad that I have to give this review but it's an...

Edit after the reply of business:

I would like to thank the business for replying to my review.

I did not contact the manager since I believe their reply is sincere and there is no need for amendments. All I wanted to do with my review was to suggest them to improve their food delivery times, especially for the customers sitting on outside seating (and maybe provide some outdoor heaters as winter is coming).

I double checked my reviews and I cannot see two reviews sent from my account. The first review was amended with this review and I don't think their business account shows both reviews.

Thanks

Original Review:

We had lunch here which was not a pleasant experience.

We were asked to order food on the app. It was such a badly designed app and the menu was so reduced that it took as 20 minutes to order. We chose roast beef and only on payment page, we got a warning that they ran out. It was not possible to remove the item from our order until we installed the app on a different phone.

After ordering, for over 45 minutes, nobody brought our food. We were super hungry and we accepted sitting outside since there was no tables available and we thought it would be a quick bite. We froze to death outside. When we went inside to ask, they were quite unfriendly and told us to wait another 10 minutes without even offering to check the status of the order ...

The food was good after all however the wait and the cold got us in an irritated state that we couldn't even enjoy it.

Very...
