We made a booking by phone and the lady was rude by saying we had to leave by 8, which is fair enough we still went for an early dinner at 6pm.

The restaurant wasn’t too full, we were quickly seated at our table and that is where things took a wrong turn.

The waiter was rude in his demeanor and did not smile. To note, this is not my first time at this restaurant.

He took our order and we were not served with wet towels. Our soups came and we asked for soy sauce which came very late. We wanted to speak to a waiter for cutlery but none were on the ground or made themselves approachable.

We finished our bowls and no one came to pick them up and our started took long. Infact the table to our left had a family of 4 who came after us, ordered after us and still got their food before us both soups and appetizers.

When I told the waiter he said it was because we are serving it as a separate course, but the soup bowls were empty for a very long time. When we complained he rolled his eyes and was very dismissive. We left paid for the soups and they wouldn’t even care. We werent even asked how we wanted the courses served!

It was an awful experience, i complained to the mamager who was apologetic and understanding but did mothing to redeem the situation.

The soup was sub par as compared to me previous visit and the disappointment is with the staff attitude.

Never going there again and wouldnt recommend it at all. Much better restaurants in town right around the corner who took us in without a reservation and gave us much better service and food!! Awful experience from...

We have been here a couple of times before. Always felt very welcomed. The food is fairly good – not the best but neither the worst. Service is always excellent. This time though we had reserved for the day after, we landed up today and fortunately were offered a table. Surprising that the booking shows no availability but for the first one and a half hour the entire basement seating was 75% vacant. We were given a table in one of the alcove, which I’m sure is good for some people, but it was very claustrophobic so we requested for another table and we offered another one at the back end. When we requested for one in the middle we were told that tables had been booked on phone ‘ by ‘the table. This is the first time we have seen a restaurant where tables are booked by the table, not by number of people who are, attending. It seemed to us that the tables in the corner were for Asians or people who are Asian looking. The service though, was good, it was so rushed that by the time you were halfway through your first course your second course was on the table . Not a memorable experience in a restaurant which we like. The manager in the basement seating area was rather cold and non-cooperative. Incidentally, the bathrooms are very slippery and I had to report it because the old gentleman nearly...

Host was extremely unwelcoming to a group of 6 tourists. Would not allow them to sit at the bar because he said the whole bar was reserved (they didn’t have a reservation) and then proceeded to allow several customers after that group to sit at the bar without a reservation. By this time the group had ordered takeout and had left to wait and come back for their order. One person from the group decided to stay behind to get the order and was standing at the bar. Bar staff IGNORED this person and then made an excuse not to serve them drinks only after the person asked to be served. Again, other customers who did not have a reservation were now taking up most of the space at the bar. This would all be bad enough by itself but what makes this worse is that the group were people of color. The waiter from the dining room who took the groups takeout order was excellent to the group but the host was very rude and appears to have been dishonest in stating that there were no available seats for the group to be served. I’m honestly appalled that this was how these people were treated. Would not recommend this...

It’s the second time I’ve been here - I’ll always try anything twice. The service was good, the food is ok. The squid was a bit of a let down - it felt like the frozen variety, wasn’t crispy, and was strangely sweet. The crispy duck was a little on the dry side, and everything else felt it needed a good dose of salt. It is an expensive place. And whilst I don’t mind spending on a meal out, the prices and the food quality really don’t match up. I’ve had a lot better for a lot less. £10 for a side of seaweed? Only if it danced itself onto the table, so no thanks. There’s only a limited range of wines available by the glass, meaning you might need to opt for a bottle if you want something decent. You feel the age of the restaurant. We were sat next to a leaking roof splashing water onto the floor. The decor is a bit tired, and the ambience something out of the 1990s. Won’t be rushing back anytime soon, but if someone else is paying and you’re not too fussy on the actual food, it’s ok.

Having visited London many times, Good Earth has become one of my go-to spots, and for good reason. This restaurant has been a London staple for alomost decades, and it’s easy to see why. We ordered a classic lineup of dishes: shrimp toast, stir-fried chicken, spring rolls, and fried rice. Each one was a hit. The food here is consistently delicious, but the spring rolls are a particular standout. There's a distinct difference in European-style spring rolls that I prefer, and Good Earth’s are a perfect example—flavourful and satisfying. While our service was a little slow at the beginning, we were quickly attended to after a short wait, and everything went smoothly once the food started arriving. Perhaps we were just a bit "hangry" to start! Despite my frequent visits, my fondness for this place isn't just nostalgia. The quality and taste truly speak for themselves, making it a reliable and delicious choice every time I'm in London.

Discovering Good Earth Restaurant (Brompton Road) a decade ago on a rainy day was a stroke of luck that I've never regretted. Over the years, it has remained a consistent haven for exceptional dining experiences. The food is consistently perfect, a testament to the chefs' skill and dedication. What truly sets this place apart is the warm and welcoming staff. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with genuine smiles. The efficiency is remarkable; once you've placed your order, the food arrives promptly, piping hot and delicious. Good Earth team understands the essence of hospitality. They know how to make you not just satisfied but genuinely happy. It's more than a restaurant; it's a place where the art of dining is perfected. Ten years later, and it's still my go-to spot, a testament to the enduring quality and charm of this remarkable establishment. Thanks to all the team from my heart! PS: Try their Sizzling Beef or Lamb!
