🚇 Elephant & Castle 🍺 £4.30 Amstel ❤️ An East Street Market pub with a very local feel. . The Good Intent is a market pub situated in the middle of East Street Market. I visited here on a Saturday afternoon and the market was packed with shoppers and bargain hunters alike. Even though the market was busy the pub was fairly quiet which was surprising. This is a locals pub and the clientele was older generation, the atmosphere was calm and laid back with Gold radio playing in the background. This is a three room pub with an island bar linking all three rooms together. The decor here is mixed and traditional, there are some nice features here being the wood panelling, fire place and the back bar on the left looks like it has had a recent face lift. I was served by a nice member of staff who was welcoming and friendly, my pint was decent and at just over four quid was great value. . The Good Intent is a solid old school locals pub in a great community setting. Come grab a pint here and bargain in the market, Cushty. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 05/03/22

Hidden away behind East Street's market stalls, and with a dark grey frontage, you could easily miss Walworth's Good Intent.

Thankfully if you look up above the stalls you'll see indicators of a pub - a shining gold Courage cock is mounted on a plinth, just below a sharp green pub sign and a Fosters roundel.

Being a market pub, it has an early licence, you can drop in from 7am every day of the week.

Inside the pub is split into three spaces. The front half of the pub is itself split in half with a bar on each side, one side feeling older thanks to the exposed woodwork and natural coloured bar and dare I say it, older punters.

Hello, today me and my family went to this cute pub, because the one we originally wanted to go was closed. Then this charming, handsome man (i guess the barkeeper) was so cute and nice, I stayed for another round. Next time I visit London I WILL DEFINITELY go there again. Sadly I was to shy to ask for his number but I guess this long distance (germany and england) doesent makes sence haha.
