šŸš‡Ā East Ham šŸŗĀ Ā£2.39 Carlsberg ā¤ļø An East Ham Wetherspoons due for closure. . The Millers Well is located on busy Barking Road in the heart of East Ham, this pub sits opposite the architecturally stunning Newham College. The nearest tube is East Ham which is a ten minute walk away. . This pub came to life when the building was converted to a Wetherspoons back in 1993. . The decor here is unmistakably Wetherspoons. The carpet, the bar the fixtures and fittings are all familiar to many of us who have frequented a Tim Martin boozer. One big bonus here is the toilet location, it is less than a mile cab ride away. One thing Wetherspoons do really well is capture moments in history from the local area and community, its well worth checking out the walls here which feature war heroes from the local area. . The beer choice was simple but extensive and included six cask options. I ordered a pint of Carlsberg which was a decent pint and as cheap as chips at Ā£2.39. The food menu is also extensive if not Michelin starred, Fish & Chips costs Ā£8.60. . The atmosphere was buzzing on this Friday afternoon with the pub packed with locals. There is a lot of solidarity here with lots of nods, winks, hugs and handshakes as people crossed paths from across the manor. As with a lot of Spoons, there were many solo drinkers from all walks of life, some were reading the paper, others gorking at their phones and others reflecting and contemplating life. . The Millers Well is due to close soon, Wetherspoons has said it’s a ā€œbusiness decisionā€ to close the pub along with 15 other pubs across London including one of my favourites, The Coronet in Holloway. . So what becomes of the old boy who can only afford to drink here, or the low income earners who come here to break the monotony? As much as the surrounding pubs are lovely and fighting their fight, I feel that some punters can not afford to grace these establishments. Hopefully a pubco like @craftunionpubs step in to take over this pub, they would be perfect. Let’s pray that this community pub has a future. šŸ™šŸ»šŸ» . ā„¹ļø Info correct on visiting 18/11/22

Called in for a couple of drinks on a hot day, and really enjoyed the atmosphere. An eclectic mix of clientele, but all very friendly. Nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, and one I'd like to go back to. Unfortunately, the Miller's Well is on the list to be sold by Wetherspoon as of writing this. Hoping another chain will take it on. It would be a shame for the area to lose a good watering hole.

Went here for the opening on Friday 15/12/2023, wish we hadn’t bothered, when it was Wetherspoons you could get cheap drinks and good food and a very good atmosphere, we only had a couple of drinks and that was enough, after seeing the new prices on the menu. And after reading in the Newham Recorder that a man in his 50s was glassed in the neck the day after opening we definitely won’t be going back.

It was OK. They ran out of some of the main spirits which was abit disappointing. Seeing as it was a weekend so I would've thought the place would be stocked up. Service was good and straight to the table via the app.

The toilets were a complete mess. Smelt really bad too. It was not as busy as it normally is on a Saturday so I think this should have been maintained alot better.

Update 6/9/2021: they didn't have any coke/Pepsi mixers and we were being served from a 2 liter Diet Coca Cola bottle. They also ran out of Lemonade and this was being poured from a 2 liter Schwepps Lemonade bottle. They didn't have alot of what we wanted in stock. The mens toilets were covered in streaks urine all over the floor coming from the toilet and it stank so bad. I was there for nearly 4 hours and the toilets were never cleaned once. They get some weird customers and drunks who they continued to serve even though you can clearly see they were drunk. Dropped from 3 stars to 1 star. I would avoid this place if I could and only went there because it was local on a Monday night. Typical East London...

Friendly staff most of them ,few likes to moan in front of customers .No good team leader to root out problems.

The company can achieve far better if they get good staff and availability of stock. Dirty plates and glasses left for hours on end on tables

Not very good awareness of work place by staff should be able to see what's happening around them, instead of being having blinkerd eye's.

Not going to name good staff to avoid conflicts at the Miller's.

By studying CCTV you can tell who is good and bad .

Miller's can do far better then what's it's doing.

If this place is runned properly nearest places will close ,in fact they are doing well .

Food is always been the same ,it's better then a chicken shop.

So please look at yourselves and change your work ethics.

Get good management of your stock levels that's always a problem at the Miller's..

Sorry not moaning just pointing out facts to improve a place which is nice to relax and enjoy a beer.

The company is at fault can't...
