They offer table service through the app, but when my drink didn't show up I asked if they received my order. One of the employers didn't know they had an app, the other had to check if I really used it as it doesn't work with their system. I had to show them proof of payment. Left my drink on the table for 5 minutes and to my surprise it was full of flies. Thankfully I checked before having a sip. I raised the issue but apparently they can't do anything to stop flies from flying in. No apology and no refund/replacement drink given. If wetherspoons drives some pubs out market don't be so surprised about it with this kind of service Will not come back.

Great pub for a nice casual dining experience. The pies are quite good, not amazing, but tasty and a good portion. I had the Moo and my wife had the Chicken and Mushroom (called Pieminister). Potatoes, peas, and gravy were perfect. The food overall was delicious and the presentation was great. How I would serve guests at home if we made a similar dish. I would certainly recommend a visit for a quick unfussy meal and a pint. Which they have a good selection of. Will surely visit again next time we are in town.

As a lone diner I often feel intimidated in pubs and bars, the Northumberland was so welcoming, a wonderful greeting. Chatted with the lad behind the bar who was so lovley, my meal was steak and ale pie with mash and mushy peas, and this was really very good! And such value for money. So if you want a break from the rows and rows of fast food I really recommend it here .

Had a truly horrendous experience on the afternoon of 30/10/23.

The pub was very empty and I was served by a middle aged black lady. Was chaos from the very start. I ordered a cider and a single vodka and diet coke, she was already swearing and muttering under her breath about other customers but was nice to me at this point (obvious fakely)

I get the cider nice and quick and then just a glass of ice with a diet coke I noticed as I almost sat down then went back up there and kindly asked for the vodka. She was nice at that point and went OH sorry.

She flitted around an got a grey goose for some reason an played with that maybe she couldn't open it, went downstairs for another I presumed but grabbed a ciroc instead and was playing with that too. She then gave up a few minutes later and was like oh ill give you a double smirnoff and I was like oh thanks (I thought I was getting an extra shot) after I paid already earlier she tried to charge me again and for a double none the less! I was shocked an said oh no I already paid but she refused to listen to I asked for it to be a single as I didn't want to argue so I paid again. She was then very rude snatched my glass and raised her voice to me saying I should be more clear and order properly when she was the one making mistakes and taking 8/9 minutes for a single drink.

Very very disappointed by this experience will never return here and expected much better than that...

Diabolical food Wed 27th Oct 8pm. Two servings of pork and mash ordered. First plate of pork sausages arrived pale and undercooked served with old gravy solidified in its little jug. Paltry single spoonful of once frozen sweetcorn/peas/carrots masquerading as "glazed seasonal vegetables" on the side. A second plate of the same poorly cooked sausages and mash arrived some time later with absolutely no veg whatsoever. Another person in our party ordered chicken schnitzel which came dry and lonely on top of some chips instead of "topped with a garlic & parsley glaze and served with rocket leaves, freshly dressed in lemon & olive oil" as described on the menu. A fourth person in our party ordered the mac'n'cheese which came with some dry and chewy old bits of bread. One member of staff appeared totally out of their depth when confronted with our complaints while another tried their best to placate the situation saying that the actual manager was working in the kitchen due to staff shortages. We were offered free drinks as a form of compensation but sadly the damage had already been done and no amount of time in there with a free drink would make up for what can only be called a culinary disaster. If you have a staff shortage then please just simply tell customers the kitchen is closed rather than ship out abominable food that does nothing for...

Went in on a Friday lunch at 1pm. Ordered 3 Fish n chips. We were told that the fish n chips were all gone....at 1pm on a Friday lunchtime!!!! The guy said oh we would have to defrost more. We had already ordered and paid for drinks so we sat down. I had ordered tea whilst the others had ordered drinks. My tea arrived with filthy cup so I asked for a clean cup. The girls face when I pointed out the dirty cup...she wasn't happy. I have no idea what she cleaned the cup with.. it definitely wasn't washing up liquid. It tasted like some chemicals. Atmosphere was nothing like it was on a previous visit. I have hospital appointments around the corner and had visited previously. There was an inspection going on that day and despite him being on his own the service from the barman was great and he was warm and Jolly. On this visit there were 3 behind the bar...all seemed to have the attitude of just don't bother us. We went down the road to another pub where we got our fish n chips , with excellent service and stayed til 8pm. The Northumberland lost a lot of business on Friday and as they are so small, you would expect them to try better to keep...
