Booked the table of 10 people nearly 2 months in advance. Arrived and there was one table of 6 and one table of 4. Staff member initially didn’t care and moved people off of the tables and cleaned them and left us alone. I went and got the manager and he also wasn’t that bothered stating he gave us a table of ten when I said clearly not as there are two tables which aren’t even next to each other. He then moved some more people off of their tables onto these tables and gave us a table which was along a bench. It was clear that this was obviously a table for eight, so when he came back over I asked if he was adding another table at the end. He said ‘no I can get you two chairs’, and I said but two people cannot eat their food then without a table. He repeated stating that he can get two chairs. I said how can people be expected to eat off of their laps without a table despite me booking the table two months in advance, he said he tried all he can do he can’t do anymore and that was it and walked off and accused me of being rude with him when all I was doing was making it clear not at any point has a table of ten been provided and that he should’ve cancelled the booking when I made it as the venue is far too small for a table of ten rather than ruining peoples...

Booked for Christmas / Birthday lunch 2 months prior to the date. Appreciate it's near to Christmas however, the pub did not ask for pre-orders even though we were a group of 10. We arrived as per our booking time, spent 25 mins trying to figure out what was gluten free on their own menu after being told at the time of booking that there were gluten free options available... they essentially started trying to create GF dishes on the spot - very odd. Waited 1 hour after ordering for our food, in which time 2 members of our party hard to leave as by that time we had well exceeded the time we expected to be at lunch. Sadly food was very average! The whole experience killed our lunch which is a shame as it was supposed to be a celebration for Christmas and two birthdays. The kitchen was obviously under a lot of stress, however given we were the first table to arrive, it's a very poor effort. The whole thing was extremely frantic and disorganised. Would not recommend coming here if you are gluten free of if you are looking for good...

I took my friends here based on the good reviews. Unfortunately we did not have the experience I was expecting. This may be pedantic, but the menu says that all pies are served with mash unless otherwise stated. I eagerly ordered the veggie pie based on this. I love mash. My friend ordered the rabbit pie and the waitress laughed at him, she said rabbits were cute why would you eat them. The food came out and to my surprise I did not have any mash on my plate, just two carrots, some slithers of broccoli and a luke warm pie. Where was the mash that I was so looking forward to? I asked the waitress. I said it doesn’t clearly state that the veggie pie comes with no mash. She agreed and went to the chef. She came back and told me the chef said mash was not included. I just want some mash. The waitress walked away and muttered “what do you want me to do about it”. I felt jaded. I just wanted some mash. Then I felt ashamed, is it pathetic to be this affected by a lack of mash? My head hung low as exited the...

Amazing atmosphere, we were there during happy hour on a sunny day and the street was filled with people chatting and drinking. Really enjoyed the experience

Bow back lanes London pub with narrow lane drinking. A corner house pub with squared windows. Good, open, square bar with a large, well decorated bar. A superb wooden beam lattice work ceiling with clean and tidy finishes. Beautiful feature pendant lights and some retained vintage decorative wood beam calligraphy. A good selection of beer. Good tunes, a little loud drive up the talking volume of a selection of mixed groups of work colleagues. Great perimeter seating with stools & some power points. A single discreet high screen with news. Nicholson's are pub experts & you will enjoy this traditional Bow lanes boozer.
