The Tolpuddle Cafe — Restaurant in London

I saw the 4.8☆ reviews for this place so decided to go for brunch and it was incredibly disappointing.

The staff were lovely but the food was awful and nothing like the photos.

I got the Greek Yoghurt Pancakes which comes with berry compote. The photo looked nice but when it came, it turned out the berry compote was a scoop of very sweet cheap-tasting strawberry jam. The pancakes were fluffy but the toppings were not what was advertised and also sort of ruined the flavour.

The person I was with got the English breakfast plate. It came with unbuttered toast (no butter was provided), a large helping of baked beans (the only good part), 2 poached eggs that were so overcooked they were dry, and 2 rashers of bacon which were also very dry. The photo here did only show these items (so not an English breakfast I.e. no sausages, hashbrowns, tomato, mushrooms) but it was still disappointing as the food was not cooked well. It also came with tea but that was incredibly weak.

I also got a hot chocolate which tasted mostly of warm milk, with a slight brown colour. It didn't taste bad, but it lacked the chocolate flavour...

Overall, I really wanted to like this cafe as it seems sweet and it nicely located in the park and the staff were really nice, but unfortunately I will not...

I absolutely love this cafe, it is so chilled, has good internet and a good working environment. When I first discovered this cafe, it was under a new management, and they were giving buy 1 get 1 free coffee/hot drinks. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time here working remotely. I love the vibe and everything that the new management has done. The coffee is amazing, and the food is also really good. My personal favorite has been the Turkish bread with Shakshouka. Oh, and this place is even dog-friendly and serves puppuccino and doggie ice-cream. It also is situated in the middle of Cally Park, so you get this really pretty iconic view of the Cally Clock Tower and good amenities nearby as well, including a playground, basketball...
