We each ordered two martinis. Right from the start, we had to wait ages at the drinks counter. The bartender seemed to be constantly arguing with others. The bar was packed too – we ended up waiting eight to ten minutes just to place our order? After ordering, things improved somewhat. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, though the drinks were merely average – nothing particularly special. The surroundings were decent, and the music was good. However, many of the people seated at the tables looked rather unpleasant. For some reason, they kept coming and going, jostling us quite forcefully and painfully. Were they trying to assert their presence? After finishing our first drinks, we ordered two more. We took a sip, put them down, turned around, and the barman cleared them away! At over ten quid a glass, I'd barely taken a sip before they were taken away. When I mentioned it to the barman, he gave me a dirty look and shrugged as if to say, 'So what?' I can only say it was utterly ridiculous. I won't be going back. Had he been even slightly more courteous, I wouldn't have been so angry. What sort of quality or character is that? Was it his first day as a barman? And this very barman was the one who'd been arguing incessantly with others at the start – the scruffy-haired, bearded bloke. His attitude was rubbish, his character poor. If it were cheap, fine. But at over ten quid a glass, you took both mine away without even bothering to sort it out. The entrance fee is ten quid too – not worth it at all.

DO NOT GO,..I do not recommend this place, very low standards of security and very rude people, security staff are horrible and proper dictators. I was put out after 5 minutes I entered this bar just because I refused to move myself from the doors downstairs when I was asked by one of their "dictators" called security guards.. I was just waiting for my girlfriend, that's why I was there.. The place was packed and I could not be somewhere else... After this they came as a group of security guards accusing me of being rude and they put us out just because I refused to move myself from the door way he wanted.. They were violent and shouting at me, luckily I was not attacked and suffered any physical aggression, do not ask me how..On this day I had a backpack with me, they didn't search it, I could have anything inside this bag, you name it..Very low standards and no safety at all.. Anybody can enter its premises without being searched, you are at risk.. My girlfriend didn't get a refund from the cloakroom and I didn't get a refund for what I paid to get inside, you have no respect for your clients...it happened last night and there were other people there with similar problems..Red Flag, do not go they take your money and then after that you are in their hands and dictatorship...

WHAT A FANTASTIC PLACE! After having some issues at 'The Little Scarlett's Door' across the road, we stumbled upon 'Thirst' and decided to pop in. The bouncers were incredibly welcoming and kind, which was a great start. We headed downstairs to find a whole bar and dance room – perfect! The bar staff were also amazing; please pass on our thanks! I didn’t catch their names, but there was a guy working behind the bar from about 7:30 until we left around 9ish, and a lovely girl too. Also, the guy who brought over our food from next door was a gem! This bar is a fantastic representation of what a good night out should be. My friend was beaming with happiness after a rough start, all thanks to the wonderful people working here. I highly, highly recommend it! Oh, and the food and cocktails were to DIE for – the best place ever!

Good venue for drinks, decent venue for drinks prices, poor venue for hospitality.

Possess complete video footage of the entire event

Spent a fair amount of money at the venue. Beautiful upstairs and downstairs decor, but awful customer service and staff.

Mentioned that the bathroom door to the men's toilets should be closed as you can see the men using the bathroom in the urinals on complete show. They disagreed with this to the extent that we were told we were wrong and kicked out. During the process of being kicked out, we were strangled and assaulted in general, to which we responded with profanity and they continued to respond with aggression (full video footage of the event is possessed).

Further to this, we were made aware that the entirety of Greek Street SOHO is run by the same management and therefore you are prohibited from all bars/clubs on the basis that one club has an issue with you - even though the issue originiates from the bar and it's staff, and not yourself.

A complete hazard to your health, safety and dignity. Would advise against visiting such a venue as they have zero responsibility towards your health and longevity.

In fact, THEY'RE PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF ALERTING GANGS, WHO LINGER OUTSIDE, TOWARDS YOU AND DIRECT THEM TO HARM YOUR LIFE WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. (Thankfully, clubs nearby have bouncers who will be understanding and attempt to de-escalate the situation).

Please be aware, if you visit this venue simply walk in for drinks and walk out after you are satisfied. Do not attempt to interact with the staff any further than that. If you have any issues whatsoever, keep them...

We had a truly great time at Thirst for my 30th birthday and I would recommend it whole heartily for your event. Great staff, great drinks, awesome DJ and cool underground venue.

From the moment I walked into enquire the team at Thirst could not do enough for me. Bending over backwards to accommodate me and make sure I had a fab birthday should I choose to book with them.

They were really friendly and answered all my questions, without telling me to go to a website, which was great as I had been to 5 other bars that night to decide where to book. Thirst won hands down because of the staff and the super deals and freebies they offered me.

They sent me an email detailing all I would need to know then and there so I wouldn't need to contact them should I decide to book, I could just reply. Which made the whole thing really easy for me.

On the actual night the staff couldn't have been better, they really looked after me and my guests and we all truly had an excellent night.

Even the DJ introduced himself to me and asked me for a list of my favourite artists so he could throw them in for me.

The cocktails were brilliant, so tasty and no skimping on the alcohol either.

All my friends kept telling me how cool this place was, and how much fun they were having, which meant I could relax and enjoy myself.

Thanks for a great night Thirst, it was everything I hoped for...
