OK so where do I start. when we arrived (despite requesting several early check ins due to flight times) we were greeted by a rude receptionist. was not very welcoming and proceeded to tell me my check in was declined as I only applied. I re iterated I had requested several times and no response apart from there is a fee for early Check in. finally agreed to check us in early but moved to a different room on 2nd floor. when we get there discover there is no lift and end up having to climb 2 flights of stairs. (actually 4 to get to second floor if you really count the break in each set of stairs) get to room and it is extremely tiny. holes in walls filled in with polyfilla (not painted over) hole behind the door, marks on walls where pictures have been changed and not cleaned before placing a smaller picture. dirty yellow glue on the walls. plug sockets not working. poor lighting. crack in bathroom mirror, bathroom door hasn't been painted in years and is yellow against the painted frames. marks on door, stains on sheets and bed covers, melted hairdryer yet it was plugged in and left for us to use. health and safety issue and I have reported this to powers to be with photo's. shower slippy and dangerous had to place towel on bottom to prevent child from slipping. breakfast I get was not available as standard breakfast due to covid and grab and go bags offered. but to be given what you would put in a child's lunch box was definitely not what I had paid for. there was no selection and we had to take what we were given. ended up having to change plans to get out earlier to get something to eat. luckily found a local sainsbury to get porridge. value for money is poor. had I seen the reviews before I booked I would never have paid what I did for such accommodation. Premier Inn charges the same price and they have better standards. I used booking.com as had not been to London for over 20 years and and I wanted somewhere close to our venue. I have paid the same in top named hotels for better...
Read moreStayed 2 nights with friend. The location was brilliant as we used Victoria coach station, twin room was clean. This is on the positive side.
Otherwise, heating was from air conditioning which didn't work properly, was pushing cold air, room was initially cold and unpleasant smell (i guess this is from AC when turned off), then they sent someone and heating was fixed, but you can't control ANY AC settings from room, it just didn't react, only to switch on and off. Also the idea to put AC over the beds is not great. It was pushing air to beds, so it was not possible to sleep for us when air is blowing on you, we had to turn it off. We only turn it on to get a bit warm air now and then before sleep. Room itself - the details are not thought through, only one chair, not comfortable even to seat in the room to have a tea etc., no option other than seat on bed, only 2-3 hangers in wardrobe for 2 people, not a single hook in room to put you coat on or bag etc. All these small details were making experience not pleasant. Also it was some quite a loud mechanical noise all the time during night as well, from behind the wall or outside, I assume it was AC blocks from other rooms were just outside our window probably.
All in all, no good value for money for me because of AC heating mainly, and the main reason we need a room in London to have a good sleep... apparently it is cheap for this location... but too much for what we have got, I wouldn't stay...
Read moreMy initial impression was nice which turned bad fairly fast. Great location if you need to be near Victoria station for easy access to Gatwick et al. The price was fairly steep, but cheaper than most places in London. Anyway, good, clean, small rooms. The downside is that you can hear everything down to people opening and closing doors and taking a pee. The worst was when we went to take a shower we thought the water was already on, but it wasn't. It was the shower above us that was LEAKING THROUGH THE SHOWER LIGHT into ours. Needless to say, we had to skip showers in favour of not getting electrocuted. The front desk didn't seem overly concerned. They offered us another room to shower but it was too little too late as we had to catch our flight. I wouldn't stay here again.
EDIT/UPDATE: I emailed the management asking for an answer and a partial refund. They have yet to respond but they did take the time to respond to my review on Google and comment on things I did not even imply were issues. The rooms are small, that's true and not an issue. They are well layed out. Staff were nice, I never said they weren't. They were just not concerned as they should have been about a potential potential electrical shock occurring in a shower. I'm still waiting for my direct response from management, and I won't be making another trip to this hotel. I will now add poor customer service to the list of issues...
