I share the same experience as a handful of people within these reviews. Rude, arrogant staff members who talk over you and are by no way friendly, just greedy for money.
I called the restaurant to make them aware I was ordering on Deliveroo and that my son had a nut allergy, initially the guy said he would look out for the order and thanks for making him aware.
I called back once I had completed the order to ask if I could have some onion salad (for which I would pay for). The guy told me it wasn’t free, I responded telling him I am ok with that, although it wasn’t on the menu for me to order on Deliveroo. He said ‘he would try and see if he can spare some’. Baring in mind it is the smallest pot of onions which they used to give for free with a chicken Madras anyway.
I ordered 3 chicken dishes along with rices, naan bread and a bottle of coke. Coke never arrived, and all three chicken dishes came unidentifiable (despite me telling them about nut allergy). Chicken curry Chicken madras Chicken Tikka Mussala All leaking and piled on top of each other!!
I called to ask which was which and why it wasn’t labelled, the gentlemen was extremely rude… told me ‘I should have told them’ about nut allergy, I explained I did and he said ‘well you should have told me’…. How was I meant to know who I was meant to tell when there are many people working there. If I call the restaurant and inform them of allergies, it is then for them to taking the necessary precautions. I was now left with 3 plastic containers (two leaking), which all looked the same. Therefore I could not feed my son the mild curry I had ordered for him. The gentlemen also informed me they have no duty to label their dishes on containers.
The chicken tikka mussala is exactly how someone else here has described it, looks like a korma, sweet, yellow and mushy.
The chicken in the portions are very shy (4/5 cubes) Value for money is very poor as their prices are not exactly cheap.
The madras was bland (just full of oil and onions).
I will be taking the allergen issue up with Southwark council as aren't meeting allergen guidance set out in line with pre-packed and non pre-packed food.
Don’t waste...
Read moreTower Tandoori promises an immersive dining experience in a good location blending stunning ambiance, impeccable service, and tantalizing Indian cuisine. However, our visit left us with mixed feelings.
Let's start with the positives. The ambience and decor are undeniably stunning. From the beautiful bar to the intricate decorations, every corner exudes authenticity. The fresh lilies and meticulously maintained bathrooms add a touch of luxury to the dining experience. Service, led by our server Dodo, was exceptional. The attentive staff ensured our comfort throughout the meal, earning high marks for their hospitality.
Yet, the culinary journey fell short of expectations. While the portions were generous, the pricing structure felt unbalanced. Mains were reasonably priced at £15, but the accompanying sides, such as naan or rice, came with a hefty price tag of nearly £5 each, leaving diners questioning the value proposition.
We sampled the chicken korma and mutton rogan josh. The korma, while adequately portioned, leaned excessively towards sweetness, detracting from its authenticity. The mutton rogan josh, though boasting medium spiciness, lacked the depth of flavor expected from traditional Indian cuisine. Having recently returned from India, the disparity in spice richness and flavor complexity was evident, leaving us somewhat disappointed.
Admittedly, Tower Tandoori caters to a London palate, and expectations must be adjusted accordingly. While the experience was pleasant overall, the culinary offerings failed to justify the premium pricing, resembling those found in cheaper takeaway establishments rather than authentic Indian eateries.
Overall, Tower Tandoori offers a charming ambiance and commendable service, making it a viable dining option in London. However, for those seeking an authentic Indian culinary experience, tempered expectations are advised. While it may not fully satisfy discerning palates craving genuine flavours, it undoubtedly provides a delightful dining experience...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Tower Tandoori, and I must say that I was thoroughly disappointed with my visit. While I always strive to provide balanced and fair reviews, my encounter at this establishment left much to be desired. To start with, the manager's demeanor was shockingly rude and abrasive towards me. Their behavior was far from professional and bordered on outright abuse. I believe that customers should be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this was not the case during my visit to Tower Tandoori. Adding to my disappointment was the quality of the food. The dishes I ordered were far from the standard I expected from an Indian restaurant. The flavors were bland and lacked the authentic taste I have come to appreciate in Indian cuisine. The presentation was lackluster, and the overall experience left me unsatisfied. As a reviewer, I understand that everyone can have an off day or occasional mishaps. However, the combination of the rude manager (the bald man with spectacles) and subpar food was a letdown, and it overshadowed any positive aspects the restaurant may have had. I sincerely hope that Tower Tandoori takes customer feedback seriously and addresses the issues highlighted in this review. Improving customer service and the quality of their dishes would greatly enhance the dining experience for future patrons. In conclusion, I regretfully cannot recommend Tower Tandoori based on my visit. No one should visit this restaurant. I believe that a restaurant's success is not only measured by its food but also by the way it treats its customers. Unfortunately, in this case, both aspects fell short of expectations.
FYI - this review is for the correct restaurant at the correct location i.e. Tower Tandoori on 74-76 Tower Bridge Road...
