Incredible art piece, frustrating service

The impression of the service is consisted of two main aspects:

Management The team member had verbally agreed on a small discount, which was partially the reason I decided to purchase I put down the deposit, the team emailed me the invoice but I didn’t double check, which is my mistake After three weeks when I came to collect the object, I reckoned the discount hasn’t been applied, as the amount is different from what I remember The team firstly said, they don’t remember we’ve agreed on a discount The team changed the statement to - the price on the invoice is the discounted price after I retrieved the details with them I asked to see the original price, as any running business probably has it documented The team couldn’t provide another prices other than the price on my invoice, then told me they’ll ask the artist to clarify, as he was onsite that day and approved the discount I paid the full amount, waited for a week as it could be a misunderstanding, but no follow up from the team

Packaging - I specifically told the team this is a meaningful gift for my mother No printed introduction card/brochure

The team told me they’ve ran out of it, sent me the digital file for me to print it myself, despite there are 5 other pieces remaining unsold, I suppose other customers would not want one

Extremely basic package Glass is considered fragile, yet you are given a tote bag to carry it around and gift it

I buy pieces from time to time, regardless of the price and scale of the business, I can always feel the passion from the owner or the staff; as they always overly-worried about every details in a positive way. On the contrary, the team here seems nonchalant to care about the customer experience...

In my experience, London Glassblowing is the best place for glass art in the UK. The number of different artists exhibiting at the gallery means that there is bound to be something you’ll want to take home with you. I have bought about 10 pieces over the years from the gallery and have never been disappointed. The gallery team (Isabel, Becky, Gena and Abi) are informative, very helpful and kind, and when ordering through the website the pieces have always arrived quickly and safely. I have also had the pleasure of meeting London Glassblowing’s founder, Peter Layton, on a couple of occasions. After so many years working in the field, his love of glass still burns brightly and his passion for this beautiful medium definitely rubs off on you. Quite simply, London Glassblowing is in a...

This is the workshop, shop and teaching facility of Peter Layton. Enter through the shop and straight ahead is the workshop where visitors can watch glassblowing in action, both by staff members and pupils in class. Fantastic to see: at my last visit I watched for an hour (chairs available) new techniques being tested prior to a demonstration abroad. The shop displays a wide selection of work ranging from modest prices to thousands of GBP. See some techniques being used in the workshop and spot them in work for sale (plus other amazing results). Nearby are many restaurants and cafes of interesting...

If you'd like to see and experience an art form that requires genuine application and talent; then this is the place to come. A group of wonderful artists, and a studio showing off their amazing creations under the stewardship of the rather charming Peter Leyton and who is something of a Godfather when it comes to blown studio glass. This all not to mention that you can buy yourself a one-off work of art starting at just a couple of hundred pounds. Personally, I absolutely love the place!
