Lokma Turkish Grill & Bar — Restaurant in London

Wow. I was planning to leave a review this morning (following my birthday dinner there last night) but I am so glad I waited a little longer so that I can add on an extra bonus point this afternoon!

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly to most - yes, the food is exceptional! Probably the best Turkish food I have had in London. If you live close by and haven't popped in, you need to visit. I travelled from Surrey and will be planning to go back.

Secondly, the customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, quite a few members of my birthday party had difficulty with cabs last night and were consequently running late. The waiter was so patient with us and was on hand to fill our drinks and check if we wanted any starters etc. whilst waiting but at no point made us feel pressured to order without our friends. That isn't easy to balance in a popular restaurant and I appreciate it greatly.

Lastly, this afternoon I called the restaurant to ask if they would mind checking if a birthday card had been left. I arrived home to find that it wasn't with my gifts and thought I would ask even though I expected it had been thrown away, lost, or perhaps taken. A gentleman named Jerry answered the phone to tell me not to worry because their cleaner had found it fallen behind the cushions and handed it in. It was full of cash and could so easily have been kept but all of it was in there and kept locked away for me to collect. I think it goes without saying that this extends beyond good customer service to just pure kindness and honesty. Thank you to the whole team right through to the people you have employed to clean the premises for caring enough to hand in a lost birthday card. Lots of gratitude from a very happy birthday...

Firstly I would like to say I was a little disappointed with the lady at the entrance/till area. She was extremely rude with bad manners. This spoilt my experience for a first impression but as I got seated for my booking into the back restaurant a wonderful waiter called Nico was so polite and made up for my experience here. He came to make sure everything was ok and offered to take some of my belongings to the side so me and my friend could enjoy our meal without having stuff taking up space around us. He was attentive throughout the evening to make sure we felt welcome and needed anything. The food was AMAZING! There was a nice warm complimentary soft bread given with a range of sauces followed with our main which we chose the boneless chicken thigh and bulgar wheat. The portion size was just right. Not too much and not too little. Chicken was delicious and moist, perfectly well seasoned - I would recommend! Super tasty and the atmosphere was also lovely. Nico provided exceptional 5 star service and definitely deserves a raise after how upset I was with the other staff members. Top tier service. He is a true example of customer care. Along with his professionalism he had a great personality and has actually changed my mind. I will definitely be visiting again soon. Today was shocking. We were practically almost scammed out of our money. There were many things that were wrong

1. The food was not good. The lamb chops and ribs were extremely chewy and tough. When addressing this with the manager. He replied that lamb is not in season so the meat will be tough.
2. One of the waitresses lied and said that we tipped her £70, mean that we had to go back to the restaurant after realising that they had Overcharged us a whole £70
3. The waitress was aggressive and rude when trying to address the money issue and gave a half hearted apology after talking to her boss

I would not recommend this place if it was the last place to eat on earth do not waste your money your time, especially now as for some reason lamb is not in season so you’ll be given extremely tough meat. That will be extremely chewy and get stuck in your teeth

When we arrived, they also made it a really big deal to give us another chair and We ended up being squashed at the back of the restaurant.

They also said that service charge was compulsory at the restaurant, even though there’s no evidence of that on the website. Hence, the manager said he was doing us a favour by removing it.

Overall, the service was abysmal. The food Was below average please check before leaving as they may charge more than what you are meant to pay.
