The meal was very disappointing, and we had to wait like 20 minutes to receive our food and the mains didn't come out together. We ordered, the wontons which tasted stale and the lamb mince filling was under seasoned and very dry, all the mains were VERY sickly sweet and not authentic: the Pad Thai was sweet, over cooked, the chicken was dry, the red curry had mushy vegetables, was sweet and tasted like it was frozen and the coconut rice was far too creamy and sweet, it was like a rice pudding dessert. I wasn't able to exchange the coconut rice, I was told because they had already served it they couldn't take it back, something other restaurants would never do, I had to order a separate jasmine rice which also tasted stale :/. I was very unpleasantly surprised considering the positive reviews but I have a feeling a lot of them may be fake. Our waiter was quite nice but we were quite ill after eating here. Such a shame. Also it's cash only and they don't serve tap water.

Food - Ordered a portion Wontons and a Chicken Fried Rice (Had some other fancy name). Wontons were tasty along together with sweet and sour sauce. But the size of the wantons were smaller than expected and was too crispy for our liking. Fried Rice was a mixed bag. Had considerably big pieces of chicken, but thought could have had more pieces. Had huge chunks of cabbage and had to too many of it. But overall the taste was good. In addition to these, we ordered Bombay Masala Chai and an Orange Juice. Nothing much to write home about either of those. If there is a next time, I would avoid both of those. Place - a decent place; but not your cozy silent place. Would’ve given 4 star, but a them not having card payments/bank transfer was a huge turnoff. Had to walk upto Tesco ATM nearby (less than 5min walk) to cash-out. Overall a good place with decent food with lot to improve.

Second time eating here. The first visit was okay.

Didn't book, walked in to request a table for one, the waiter REMAINED seated on the customer table and asked me what I wanted. I was pretty astonished. When seated on a table I requested tap water but was told 'we don't serve tap water'. Very disappointing and smacks of greed. The waiter attempted to sell me a soft drink called Barbican instead, 'it's really nice'. I asked him if it was fizzy, as I don't like fizzy drinks, ''no it's not fizzy'. He duly brought the drink over. First ingredient carbonated water, second ingredient sugar, made in china, £3. I politely declined. The restaurant is clearly trying to squeeze every £ out of its customers at any cost.

Ordered a Tom yum Goon. The soup tasted like it was made with little care or attention to detail. Bland and lacked flavour. A lot of the soup looked as though it had evaporated away. My conclusion was that the soup was possibly microwaved, given the evaporation marks on the side of the bowl.

I was hungry and decided to try the Som Tam salad. It costs £11 which is a shocking price considering this dish costs an average of £8 at most other Thai restaurants I've been to in London. I was expecting something very special considering they have the confidence to charge an extra 40%. Sadly the som tam salad was without doubt the worst I've ever tasted in any restaurant. It lacked any technical skill, the papaya was tasteless, the dried shrimps were very small and again tasteless. It was just very very bad. At £11 this was a real kick in the teeth.

I left very unsatisfied and will not be returning...

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for years, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. The chicken wings I ordered were stale and had a disgusting taste. I opted not to consume the red curry or coconut rice after eating the chips. Unfortunately, about half an hour later, my mom vomited, and I experienced severe stomach cramps. This has never happened before with this restaurant.

When I raised my concerns with the manager/owner, I was met with unprofessional behavior and a refusal to take responsibility. He claimed to know his 'product,' but it is shocking that he lacked the basic understanding that mistakes can occur. I have never complained about the food here before. Furthermore, in a previous incident a year and a half ago, the restaurant failed to deliver our food on time ( he was 90 min later), when I cancelled the order due to work commitments (meetings etc) he initially offered £10 off the bill for the inconvenience, he later denied the discount and offered only 10%. It was a frustrating experience dealing with his poor customer service.

I am deeply disappointed by this recent encounter and the manager's attitude. Such unprofessionalism and lack of accountability do not align with good customer service practices. It is evident that this establishment falls short in meeting basic expectations. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to consider their...

Thank you to the kind gentlemen of Thai Pie Stratford. Your hospitality, delicious food, and kindness should be known to the world! ❤️

I visited Thai Pie after 12hrs of travel and it was almost closing time. I was exhausted, hungry and in tears because my phone wouldn't allow me to make transactions online, I had no cash, and had (stupidly) left my card at my accommodation after a long travel day.

The gentlemen were extremely patient with me as I tried every payment method on my phone that just wouldn't work. After keeping them after closing time, they were still so kind and calm in trying to help me. One of the owners told me I could come back to pay the following day when I was more relaxed and rested. I couldn't have more gratitude for their kindness. After leaving the restaurant my partner eventually answered the phone and I was able to use his card to pay online.

The food was piping hot, DELICIOUS, and was a great serving size. I didn't dine inside but it had a great ambience and atmosphere. Lots of vegetarian options.

I couldn't be more appreciative for the kindness of these gentlemen. I will be sure to dine there again the next time I travel to England.

Thanks from...
