This new spot could be the best coffee shop in this side of the town, including its unique interior and nice taste of coffee. Located in a corner near the main road in Kennington area, this newly opened shop offers coffee and sells plants, a pretty contemporary combination that allows customers to really have some quiet breathing moments in a big city like London. My flat white was with oat milk, it tasted really sophisticated, very well balanced. I really enjoyed it. The barista really know what he’s doing. The snack offering is also rich, I didn’t try any but I look forward to trying some next time. When I visited it was a busy Sunday afternoon, almost full. I squeezed with another customer on a small table. Everyone was cool and calm, I feel this is the kind of cool place that hooks out cool locals. I will definitely come back more!

While exploring Kennington, I discovered Urban Botanica and instantly loved the combination of excellent coffee, tempting sweet treats, and lush greenery. The single-origin coffee is sourced through Horsham Coffee Roaster, where the owner previously worked, and my latte was rich, velvety, and beautifully made. I couldn’t resist the pistachio-topped pain au chocolat with its indulgent pistachio paste filling, and the counter was packed with other bakes like loaf cakes, cookies, brownies, and muffins. The cafĆ© also doubles as a plant shop, with everything from rare Philodendrons to easy-care favourites, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A calm, welcoming spot with both indoor seating and a peaceful garden — definitely worth a visit if you’re in SE11.

Another little local gem for sure and we will definitely investigate it more! The guy who served us, was pretty friendly and helpful. Pastries were very yumm!! Good quality coffee! The table area is sooo cute! We bought a bag of coffee beans too for home brew and yes, great beans. The reason it’s not 5 stars, is - there is NO price! We got a bag of standard coffee beans, one americano, one latte, one choco almond croissant and raisin pastry. We paid 29Ā£ .. But we will give them a try again!

Rude Barista with No Regard for Customer Satisfaction

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the recent customer service I received at Botanic Urban Coffee. As a loyal customer, I have always enjoyed their cozy atmosphere and flavorful coffee, but my latest visit left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

The incident occurred when I ordered a double macchiato and kindly requested some foam on top. To my surprise, the barista with the cap responded in an unprofessional and condescending manner. He curtly informed me that "this is how he makes it" and if I wasn't satisfied, I was welcome to find another coffee shop. This response left me feeling disrespected and invalidated as a paying customer.

What troubled me further was the barista's lack of understanding about how a macchiato should be prepared. Contrary to his assertion, it is common knowledge that a macchiato should indeed have a dollop of foam on top, traditionally achieved by gently spooning the foam onto the espresso. This simple fact seemed to elude the barista, highlighting a concerning lack of knowledge and attention to detail in his craft.

Customer service is a crucial aspect of any business, particularly in the food and beverage industry. In this regard, the barista's dismissive and unwelcoming behavior was a glaring failure on Botanic Urban Coffee's part. Rather than addressing my request with understanding and professionalism, he opted for rudeness and arrogance. This approach not only tarnished my experience but also reflected poorly on the entire establishment.

As a customer, I value the quality of service I receive just as much as the taste of the coffee itself. Sadly, on this occasion, I found the barista's behavior to be wholly unacceptable. It is disheartening to witness such a decline in customer service standards, especially in a place that I once considered a go-to spot for quality coffee and friendly service.

I sincerely hope that Botanic Urban Coffee takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue at hand. Providing exceptional customer service should be a top priority for any business, and the rude behavior exhibited by the barista with the cap is a direct contradiction to this principle. I implore the management to reevaluate their training programs and ensure that their staff members are well-versed in both coffee preparation techniques and customer interaction.

In conclusion, my experience at Botanic Urban Coffee was marred by the rude and unprofessional conduct of the barista. I strongly urge the management to rectify this issue promptly, as a thriving coffee shop should always strive to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for its...

Coffee shop offers delicious breads ugh so tasty. When ordering tea, I got a whole teapot, not just a cup haha :D Would definitely go back just for the bread and tea!

The coffee shop has a lovely interior design! It's mostly green on the inside, creating a calming ambient. However, the plants inside are not being taken proper care of, as well as the placement of seats inside is a bit awkward. As the room is quite small, you don't sit across the person you're with, but beside them. Also, the tables are the same height as your seat, so you have to push it further away to actually be able to sit properly, but then it makes it awkward to sit next to the person and to reach for your cup/food; you just look at the wall or you have to keep your head turned to the side the whole time to look at the person on your side.

There is a high table stuck onto the wall, but it is very very tiny. Sitting beside that specific wall, is probably the best option, as long as you don't order a lot, or if you're with someone, ordering one thing for the both of you seems like the best idea.

It's visually pleasing, but the use of the furniture is not...

I was having a good time drinking my coffee and working on my computer until one of the employees came to me 3 times within the span of 5 times to remind me that I needed to leave šŸ˜€šŸ˜€ I understand having 90 minutes limit when the shop is busy, it wouldn’t be fair for me prevent other customers from having a table for themselves, but the place wasn’t too busy, there were plenty of other tables to sit at. I was essentially forced to leave, It’s honestly disrespectful I even offered to buy another drink but was told that I had to leave regardless. Again if this were during COVID times or if were preventing a customer from sitting I’d completely understand but when I ask nicely if I could stay and get another drink but still get shutdown and get told that they’d make ā€œNo exceptionsā€ as if I’m asking for a free service… yeah unfortunately I wont be going back. The coffee was good, the atmosphere is nice but I’m extremely disappointed...
