Read moreWe couldn't be happier with our choice to have our wedding reception at Vinoteca City. When our original venue fell through just five months before the wedding, we stumbled upon this amazing space, and we're so glad we did!
Communication: Lisa was on top of everything from start to finish in the planning. She didn't miss a beat and was always super quick to respond. And on the big day Fabio was there to make sure everything was running smoothly, regularly checking in on us. The handover between them was seamless. Thanks to their amazing planning and top-notch service, we didn't have to worry about a single thing. They had it all under control to make sure we enjoyed our day.
Location: It's so stunning. The place itself is so beautiful that you don't need a ton of decorations. Plus, it's nestled in the Bank Station area with all the amazing architecture, so having a wedding there on the weekend is a win-win. It's quieter, and you can really soak up the gorgeous surroundings. We really recommend popping out for a few sunset snaps, the light hits all the buildings beautifully.
Food: They gave us so much flexibility with the menus. We recommend checking out their previous seasonal offerings to make the most of their amazing chefs. You can find dishes that suit your taste perfectly, they've got some yummy vegan options too. They made sure to cater to all of our guests' dietary needs. We even asked for poutine as a late-night snack, and they pulled it off without a hitch. No questions asked.
Service: The service at Vinoteca City is faultless. They had a lot more staff than we expected which really elevated the service for us and our guests. We never felt like we were waiting for anything. They magically appeared with Champagne and wine when we needed refills, and the canapés were always timed perfectly. They really went above and beyond to make us feel special.
Value: We only had 35 guests as we had intended for our reception to be intimate but you could probably fit triple that amount and possibly more. If a city wedding is what you're looking for, this is the best value there is!
If you're looking for a recommendation, look no further. We wholeheartedly recommend Vinoteca City. The whole experience was incredible and perfectly catered to our needs. From start to finish, they had it all covered. Trust us, you won't be...
Read moreUnfortunately, not the best experience. I went there with a friend. After the starters and our first drinks, we wanted to order some wine with the mains. We had to wait between 5 and 10 min for a menu (while our mains were already on the table) and another 5-10 min to get the drinks we had ordered. By then our food was cold. The portions were quite small too, although the food was okay (but cold). The table was crowded as they hadn’t removed the first drinks. The bottle of water stayed emptied for most of the meal. I tried to get the waiter’s attention for another 5-10 min, waving with one hand then two, to no avail, despite him having a conversation with two bartenders (none of them were busy). Then he started walking around the room (by then most people had left) but didn’t look at me and didn’t notice my desperate attempt to grab his attention once more. I decided to go to the bar to get some water for our table and bring the empty glasses back to have the table ready for dessert, as it was a small table that was very crowded, explaining to the barman I had tried to grab someone’s attention for a long time. He didn’t like it and gave me a nasty look when I walked past him after a trip to the bathroom. We still had to wait again to order the desserts, and finally pay. The waiter was polite enough (living in London you get used to them not asking you how everything is going or if the food was good etc.). The exchange was transactional but polite. However, it’s a pity that you are never acknowledged as a customer when you’re trying to order, that you have to eat cold because of that, and that the barman gives you nasty looks because you had enough with waiting (usually you would get a “sorry”, instead of being made feel very uncomfortable by the staff). Overall, there are plenty of restaurants in this area, so give the others a try, but don’t waste your time and money...
