Most awful treatment that I ever got in a hospitality establishment. If you’d like to know how not to treat people in this industry, I encourage you to read my review. Went there for half a pint after finishing from work, just wanted to disconnect. Ordered a half pint of Neckoil, beer that I really enjoy. Got served and went outside for a cigarette. After couple of sips I realised that something wasn’t right, it tasted quite watery, not the sort of crispy full bodied flavour that it has. Didn’t have much time but went inside to ask about it. I told the bartender who actually seemed to be the manager, I complaint about the watery taste and not only I didn’t get a polite reply but that person looked at me in a very rude and alarmed way, replied that I may have lost my taste and that I shouldn’t be around if I had Covid. I was flabbergasted because I’m an essential worker and test myself everyday, just got negative pcr result and if I had Covid I wouldn’t be around. I felt disrespected so I asked him to try the Neckoil. He did and after his second sip, sent somebody to change the Neckoil. After that he didn’t apologise, just asked me if I wanted something instead. I asked for half Brixton, asked if it was same price, got no reply, just a half pint slammed down in front of me. I said thank you, took it out again and after two sips I was like, there’s something wrong with this beer as well. Couldn’t be bothered to say anything again, I was in a rush so I left without finishing it. After a while I started to feel sick, an acid reflux in my throat. Probably because the beer was out of date or the lines haven’t been clean properly or at all. I’m a beer lover and I’ve worked in pubs for a long time. Worst experience I’ve ever had, rude and disrespectful service, overcharged and poor quality. Wouldn’t...
Read moreI have to give this place 1 Star. This is the third time me and my partner have been to the White Lion and every time we have gone there has been a issue. First time my misses ordered a burger with no onions. My burger came but she did not get hers for another 20mins and when it came, you guessed it, it had onion. The second time we went on a Sunday for a Sundays roast. The prices where inflated and the portion were small. We both had a Sunday roast, a drink each and a starter and dessert each. Some how the bill came up to £80.00, which was annoying as I left feeling hungry still and that's the reason you have Sunday roast. Third and last visit was to get a dessert take away. At first they told.me the kitchen was closed even though the sign said that the kitchen closes at 10pm and my watch said 8.30 pm. I should have know from there this was going to go badly. Cut a long story short, I ordered a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and I got no ice cream and a cold and still wrapped in cling film sticky toffee pudding. I will not be going back again and I hear that the Old Diary Pub at the top of Stroud Green is...
Read moreI came for the roast recently and honestly I was a bit disappointed. I'd had roasts here before and found it lovely delicious that I had to come back.
They've changed the chicken roast to Turkey to match the Christmas season. And I do really wish they'd left the chicken one there.
I decided to give the Turkey roast a try. I regret it. The Turkey was horribly dry. Honestly got a piece of skinless meat, which honestly felt like a piece of meat you'd buy at a supermarket. I ordered the mac and cheese with it again and sadly this time the mac and cheese was very dry. The vegs and Yorkshire was lovely as always but it's the meat that's meant to be the start of the show and that Turkey was awful.
I also didn't appricate when we got our bill receipt , ontop of the hefty service charge, we were charged an extra pound.
I had to ask what this was? It was for charity which is fine but honestly I'd appricate if you made it clear we are being charged for these things and why before we pay the bill. Just feels quite sneaky...
