I’m not from the UK and came to this restaurant because of reviews claiming that it was authentic. As a Korean, I was sorely disappointed. For me, this is the first restaurant that was so bad that I’m actually spending time to leave a review. First to start, the side dishes were far from authentic. The 김치 (kimchi) itself wasn’t seasoned properly, the 콩나물 (bean sprouts) had no taste, and their 미역 (seaweed) only tasted of vinegar. I also ordered the 순두부찌개 (Soondubu) which only tasted of chili oil, which it is NOT authentic. For the main, my fiancé and I got the Yori set and we were disappointed by both the quality and flavor. It came with sirloin steak, 삼겹살 (samgyupsal), LA 갈비 (LA Galbi), 2 prawns, and 6 pieces of 차돌백이 (brisket). Right away, you can see that the meat quality was poor. More than half of each strip of 삼겹살 (Samgyupsal) was composed of fat. We ended up cutting it off and throwing it out right away. The steak was a cheap cut you could get from the supermarket. The prawns were not fresh and you could tell they’ve been sitting in a freezer. The LA 갈비 (LA Galbi) had no flavor and was drier than desert sand. The pictures I included are the items we could not force ourselves to finish. My fiancé and I couldn’t stand it and decided to pay and leave without even taking the leftovers with us. As one of the few Korean restaurants in the UK, I feel like they didn’t do my culture justice. It seems like the owner of the restaurant has not extensively had Korean cuisine and is depending on the fact that many people in the UK have not had an authentic Korean experience. I’m not trying to flame them, but rather, I’m hoping a honest and scathing review makes them think more about the customers as well as the quality of their dishes. This was not a 80 pound experience and I felt ashamed that many believe that this is “authentic”.

Firstly, the restaurant is pretty dirty and grimy inside. Dirty table and menu covered in food and drink and was wet. There were cleaning liquids everywhere all over the bar area which is really unappetizing. The grill was really dirty and hadn’t been cleaned so I didn’t get bbq. The banchan (pickled cucumber, radish and bean sprouts) were ice cold straight from the fridge/freezer that I needed to wait for them to reach room temperature The restaurant is quiet so I think prepping fresh kimchi and sides on a daily basis is not that hard? The cucumber kimchi tasted old. My spicy pork belly was really nice but it was quite sweet. I expected more spice and deep flavor The tteokbokki was awful. Dry, old and no sauce, full of raw onion and had one tiny sad piece of fish cake, and microwaved to hell (some parts ice cold and other bits very hot) Also the boiled egg was cold from fridge. I never send food back but I had to send the tteokbokki back. It was really bad and the worst I’ve tried. Serving that in Korea will result in prison sentences Lovely server. She seemed nice and friendly and gladly removed the tteokbokki from my bill. Some items on menu not available and WiFi not working I would return but the place needs to be cleaned. And tell the chef to learn how to make tteokbokki!!

At Yori Korean Restaurant in Fulham, I embarked on a gastronomic journey that promised excitement but delivered a culinary comedy of errors. The bibimbap was an enigmatic dish, resembling a culinary experiment where rice decided to reinvent itself as wallpaper paste, minus any hint of flavor. It was a bold move, daring to challenge the very essence of what makes food enjoyable. The fried chicken was a saga on its own. Presented as a "generous" portion, it was more a teaser than a feast, possibly on a diet. The flavor had a nostalgic essence of yesteryear, reminiscent of chicken that had long forgotten its prime. And then there was the Udon, a dish that seemed to have been through an identity crisis. It was as if the noodles got lost on their way to becoming authentic Udon and ended up impersonating a bowl of spaghetti that had a fleeting affair with gochujang sauce. The result? A culinary masquerade that left my taste buds bewildered, pondering the mysteries of its creation. Dining at Yori was akin to watching a culinary sitcom where the dishes were the characters, each with its own quirky plot twist. A memorable experience indeed, but perhaps more for the story than the satisfaction.

Yesterday a friend and I went to Yori to have dinner. We arrived 20:50 and we placed the order on the QR code like is recommended. We placed around £50 on the order and on the website provided by the qr code said that the order was submitted. A couple arrived after we had ordered and sat on a table close to us and ordered the same way. After 30min waiting we noticed that the couple that arrived after us had received their food on their table but we thought that ours was on the way. In the meantime we saw the employees walking by us back and forth so many times but no one ever asked anything to us or offered help to order food. After more than one hour waiting for our food we chased one of the waiters and asked if our order was going to take any longer. She seemed surprised and said that the kitchen was closed and the last order had already been made. We explained to her that we had ordered by the qr code l, showed the proof of it and she took my phone to someone else that also looked surprised. She came over to our table saying that there was a problem on their system and our order didn't go though. Which is weird because the couple that ordered after us for their food. She went back to her colleague again and came back saying that she would get our order manually. We were already very disappointed and decided to continue with the order because would be annoying to find another restaurant around to have dinner and we were already sat. She got our order around 22:30 and said that they would close at 23:00. The food was lovely but we didn't enjoy it in such a rush. In the end she came with the card machine for us to pay the full price and didn't even apologise properly. I just recommend to the staff double check how the customer is, if they see them sitting on the table for over an hour with no...
