I've given this bar a 5 because I really want it to be supported. The absolutely brilliant thing was that they let me leave my bike inside in a storage room. Because the vibe was so chilled I had the confidence to ask. Obvs I don't normally take my bicycle inside venues, but lock up places are limited. 2 non-alcoholic "beers". I had the Lucky Saint, very good. The bar was warm and cosy, quite hard to achieve in a massive tunnel, so fair play. The performance area stank of mould, I was hoping the vaping people would cancel it out but unfortunately not. Saying that, it was set up well. I have a couple of mates with physical disabilities so I'm always looking at venues with that in mind. They wouldn't have managed on the little stools and they couldn't have managed the stairs. Hopefully I could get them chairs with backs. Toilets clean and with good disability access. The staff are absolutely lovely. Go, eat a pie, watch a show or have a drink. I don't mind what, but support it and...
Read moreThis is a wonderful venue. The staff are amazing. They recently hosted a daytime two day music festival for us and they absolutely could not have been more accommodating. We felt welcomed and all our attendees were cared for beautifully regardless of their level of need. The venue is VERY accessible. Simon is extremely open to any ideas and I didn’t feel uncomfortable in sounding him and the team out with my many thoughts!
As an organisation we are also thinking about hosting staff training and conferences here as it’s such a lovely venue and close to all the travel links.
To the team, we cannot thank you enough for your happy patience. The event was a huge success. We salute you!
PS: I do not have any personal links to this venue. It’s just...
Read moreVisited here for the first time yesterday as we live close by. A very cool/different vibe bar with plenty of cubby/snug areas in brick arches. The staff are also friendly.
The only reason for 4 stars was this bar also has a theatre within. We must have been told to be quiet 3 or 4 times, and a lot of “ssssh”.
We get it and tried our best to be quiet, not that I felt our group was rowdy at all - but especially on a Saturday night either close the bar for the ticketed event only - or better yet build a wall/door that’s more sound proofed. Feels like a bit of bad planning that paying customers will suffer...
