I popped in with my husband while running some errands recently and we enjoyed some really delicious, super authentic food. We decided we'd much rather support an independent than a chain like the neighbouring San Carlo and I'm so glad we did! I opted for the lunch special - the meatballs and gnocci; both were absolutely delicious and tasted homemade. The meatballs were soooo soft! Generous portion sizes too - had to take half of it home! My husband had the pizza, which he really rated, he said it had that tasty chargrilled flavour. The staff are very friendly and everyone said goodbye when we left, even the chef. The only one niggle was the cost of a glass of prosecco - £9.50. I didn't check the drinks menu beforehand so that was a bit of a shock but probably on a par with other city centre restaurants - we just never dine out in the city usually. I would definitely recommend Capri's - please support your local independents, it makes such a difference to them!

(update) we visited again - the food came so so quickly. gnocchi was still as delicious, linguine ai frutti di mare was very flavourful, very seafoody. can safely say the food here are consistently excellent. truly deserves more recognition! (first review) we had a birthday dinner here and were all very happy with our visit! the food were all so delicious; i had the caserecce pasta with prawns and pistachio pesto which was fantastic, it had a really nice bite to it as the pasta were al dente. i tried the gnocchi too, and this was the star dish for me as its creamy tomato sauce was seasoned perfectly for the pillowy gnocchi pieces. the linguine with mixed seafood was excellent too, plenty of mussels on the plate. overall it was such a pleasant dinner, the owner and staff were all great, food were all delicious. highly highly recommend this restaurant! i would visit again.

We had a great meal at this sweet little Italian restaurant. You can tell it is family run by the kind staff and how accommodating they are. We came by on a Saturday night and it was packed. We tried again on Sunday and it was easier to find a table. The inside of the restaurant is decorated like you are in Capri (hence the name). This fish is extremely fresh too. We had the prawn and calamari appetizer—the owner declared it the freshest fish in Manchester and I have to agree. We then shared the Pizza Napoltana and the Pasta Carbonara. Everything was fresh and amazing. We had Lemoncello for dessert. My husband lived it Italy for a few years and we spoke to the owner about that. He was so lovely and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices too. The quality of food was excellent. If you want a “feel good” place, this is the restaurant for you!
