Chorlton Tap — Restaurant in Manchester

I have been coming in here for 25 years as it was my local and favourite pub in Manchester, but since my last review things have changed. I went in last weekend, and imagine my disappointment to find that there was no cask ale (other than stout). They had a large selection of Keg craft beers, but these come at a premium price and are too gassy for my taste. Whilst I appreciate that hipsters like to drink this stuff, there is still a viable market for traditional cask ale. It would also appear that people are voting with their feet as the place was almost empty on a Saturday night. 25/04/24: what happened to Wander Beyond? Still a good range of craft ale. I had the Marble Brewery: Nilson lime & coconut sour. This is my new 'go to' for sunday lunch. 4x meat and 4x vegan options, they change regularly. The food is good quality, it's genuinely nice to have such a balanced vegan / non vegan menu. Perfect for a mixed group of meat eaters and vegetarians / vegans.

The panko herb vegan chicken was amazing, friends said it was nicer than the meat! The mixed mushroom wellington was also really nice. Portions could be a little bigger, but I'd rather have quality over quantity any day.

I wish you could order via the waitress / bar instead of using a stupid app / website and having to do it online. It asks for tips up front, which seems to be a...
