So I was in Town Picking up my Mrs from Piccadilly station after a business meeting in Oxford and I got there a little bit early so as I was walking up the station approach I stumbled across the Piccadilly tap so I decided to wet my whistle.
I walked in and headed straight to the bar and I ordered a pint of IPA(I can't remember the name) but service was friendly enough, Great pint i paid ÂŁ5.50(You can pay cash or card), Chilled out relaxed atmosphere mixture of working class to office types, There is outside seating aswell internal seating.
Pint was very nice and very hoppy and was well served and the bar was clean and tidy, Polite and friendly staff.
Great experience, Great pint and a stone throw from Piccadilly station.

Read moreI called in at the Piccadilly Tap on my way to Manchester Picc station to get the train to Sheffield. I'd past a number of hostelries that didn't look much to my liking but the Picc Tap appeared somewhat more promising. Wow....what a place !! A nice cosy atmosphere, an excellent choice of beers and welcoming staff. I chose the Abbeydale Heathen at 4.1% and it turned out to be one of the best draught beers I'd had in a looong time. As I suspected, it was actually brewed in Sheffield at the Abbeydale Brewery. Absolutely packed with flavour and not overly hoppy. I have to single out one of the bar staff although I didn't catch his name but we chatted about music and bands as I'd just come from the Gorilla having seen Nada Surf. I think one of the best gigs I'd ever been to. So I recommended one or two artists and the guy behind the bar did also. Unfortunately, he had clientele to serve and I had a train to catch, and so I had to dash off but I just felt obliged to give the guy a mention. Thankfully, I managed to catch the last train to Sheffield, unlike earlier in the year when I had to spend an uncomfortable five hours in the station having missed the last train. All in all, a top place prompting me to leave a review and a very worthy...
Read moreWell, an experience I had here back in February was when they were clearly cleaning up before closing early on a Monday â and two bar mats had been unevenly placed on top of one another by staff at the front of the bar, and whilst trying to talk to them (in retrospect I shouldnât have) I put my drink down without looking (as pretty much I always do), and it went flying on its side, and went all over the floor, after only a couple of sips. I offered to clean up on my side, and did do when given a roll of tissues or whatever⌠then asked if maybe they could top it up or if it was my own responsibility â one of the ladies said âyour own responsibility, unfortunatelyâ â so I basically paid ÂŁ5 to have a pint of beer be spilt on the floor due to the mistakes of the staff just leaving things around that they shouldnât have (if still serving), and this has never, ever happened anywhere else in all of my years of drinking, and I knew that it was due to the uneven mats due to testing them with my quarter of a pint left....
