One of the best Vegetarian Italian meal. Lost a star due to mismanaged order.
Location: The place is right on a busy street with off street parking. There is a paid parking area a few minutes away which costed us 1 quid.
Ambience: Nothing special. QUITE BASIC but they do have heated outdoor area (Covered). It is a medium sized space but during peak hours can get crowded.
Food: We had Campana for starters, and Capricciosa pizza for mains. On request, they need substitute meat with veggies. Both the dishes were delicious and fresh. Pizza base wasn't chewy which is a big win for me. Overall the food was delicious. With almost everything perfect, we had a few issues with the order placed. We asked for vegetarian but Campana was served with meat. When asked to replace, they clearly removed the meat from the plate and served veggies on it. We found a piece of meat, literally at our last bite and I was appalled. They didn't charge us for the starter but mixing up veg with meat is a total downer in a dining experience. We also asked for roasted peppers which we got charged for but never appeared on the pizza. Felt like it was probably too chaotic in the kitchen to keep up with specifics.
Rates: Pretty standard. Everything is priced in between 8-14 quids.
Service:...
Read moreNot a patch on the city centre Rudys.
Early Friday evening service was mediocre and lacklustre, with one of us (a family of just 4) having to wait 5mins after the other three had their pizzas to get theirs - no sense of urgency or apology, or acknowldgement that a young child should be served first, not delayed without explanation.
Noisy acoustics inside, no soft furnishings to absorb, and music relatively loud for an eatery. So it was hard to have a conversation when it was not even that busy.
Pizzas were dry, lacked cheese and dough not as tasty as City centre versions. One pizza cutter fell apart and having to slice them on a ridged plate was a little odd and awkward, particularly the kids pizzas. Just on that, families of youngsters be aware that Rudy's don't really cater for kids, everything is adult portion sized. Meh.
One of those nights, and a shrewd manager or server would have picked up on it all and offered something back. Nothing, not even an apology. Plenty of staff milling around and hard to get their attention. Wanted to love our local Rudy's but we won't be rushing back, which is a shame as mcr centre Rudy's previously both been great.
Thank heaven we have Croma who's service, taste and atmosphere has been consistently great over the...

What a pizza. I had the Tonno when I first went and I am pretty sure it cured my sleep paralysis. When I came again I had the Portobello and I have cut my number of blinks per day in half. Saved so much kinetic energy that I'm now playing 5-a-side again which is giving me a chance to reconnect with my old colleagues who I haven't had much of a chance to stay in touch with.
What a restaurant. And what unbelievably warm and friendly service. The people working here offer the service that makes you feel more like yourself. We were served by Lilly who offered endless joy, comfort and entertainment, like a human Nintendo DS. The exceptional service alone sans pizza made the whole trip feel worthwhile.
Before leaving I had a tiramissu off the rocks, and once again, Rudy's hit it out of the Wembley park!!!
As I left I asked my friends to call me an ambulance because I was scared that I was having a stroke or a TIA. It turns out my mind had just been blown. I had to have a calippo and a rolly to level myself out.
But yeah, very good pizza and amazing service :) I absolutely...
