AWFUL! We had the Christmas menu - pate served with 2 small pieces of bread. I asked politely if we could have more bread and the waitress said she would check?? She did bring some more - one extra piece each for the four of us. Onto mains - mine was beef with potato ad my friend had duck - and more duck! I enquired about vegetables only for the waiter to say I had veg - pointing to my potato! I asked if we could have a side serving of vegetables only for him to come back and say there was no extra veg - they only had enough for the Christmas menu, in desperation we asked about salad but no, they didn't have that either! - so my beef came served with potato ( fine) a soggy splodge of spinach and a couple of tiny mushrooms as garnish. My friend basically had a plate of duck - one sliver of onion and another soggy splodge of spinach! How ridiculous! What restaurant doesn't serve vegetables? Then onto dessert - orange chocolate mousse in a cold glass served on a red hot plate!! Because they put the plates on the hot plate to serve the desserts!!? And my poor friend? Burnt apple tart! DON'T BOTHER - the fact it is sited in the middle of a building site doesn't add...
Read moreI've walked past this place many times and never felt compelled to go in . And till now .and the first thing you notice is how old this pub really is, why all around it is changing with sky high apartment , new offices , this pub as stood the test of time . It's in need of a full refurbishment. when you walk in, it's like you have gone back in time it really does have its own style . The toilets are dark walls covered in stickers & graffiti , and the fan is thick with dust , but all this said, you are greeted by friendly bar staff. And the people that go in are happy to chat to anyone who goes in . And as the day went on, it was getting busier by the minute, but good weather and a nice outdoor space helped . You will get a warm welcome in here . Will I go in again, I think so .it's doing its own thing and not trying to keep up with anyone else, so good on them . The drinks are good .and the lad & the new trainee bar member was...

From the outside it looks quite plain, but inside it has a quirky old fashioned feel to it, what with the old wooden type fixtures and fittings and the fact it's really quite small.
It does seem a little unloved although that's not to say it's actually dirty - it just looks like it needs a spruce up.
The drinks on sale are pretty much most of the usual suspects but will a few odd additions like their own cider (7%...🤯). The spirits range again, no surprise, you're bound to find a drink.
There is a beer garden and in the afternoon when we was in there you can catch the sun in a very pleasant way until late, also I do have to say it very much looks like an overgrown car park and the benches are a wee bit wobbly, but having said that - I had a...
