I went with a mate to watch the first game of the PL season. The venue is nice enough with decent décor. The drinks are expensive but don't necessarily justify the price tag. We ordered a couple of burgers via the website using our table number, which is a useful choice given how busy they said it was - although it wasn't as busy as other venues playing the football nearby. We waited over an hour and a half for food, at which point a waitress gave me my chicken burger, apologised for the wait and walked away. I tried to ask the waitress whether to expect my friend's food soon but she didn't seem to hear me. The food isn't worth it. The burger looked like it had been thrown together and was bland. I ate about half of the burger when the manager approached me in a rude and hostile manner and accused me of taking the burger from the table next to me. I pointed out that the waitress gave it to me and he asserted that I had not ordered food. Upon producing my online receipt he then said that the burger was meant for the table next to me and blamed me for accepting it. It appeared to be lost on him that I had ordered a chicken burger and was given a chicken burger. He then said if it was their mistake he would get to the bottom of the issue and then stood and stared at me before storming off. Then a young waitress approached and said they had started making our food - they had not even started cooking our order despite us waiting over an hour and a half. The manager did not return and we did not get an apology or explanation. I then requested the manager, cancelled my order and was issued with a full refund. It was only at this point the manager was apologetic. I left during the football, which we had gone out specifically to watch. I emailed the owner to raise my concerns but they did not provide an explanation - only the offer of a bar tab. However, I did not accept as they would probably accuse me of stealing the...

Read moreFirst night out in over a year. I had no phone so was frowned at because the staff had to put my details on paper and I couldn't scan the table service qr code either, again a massive inconvenience obviously as the first drink I ordered from the waitress who came over to the table didn't arrive I waited 90 minutes before saying anything. Went to the bar and "table service only" was barked at me. After again explaining I had no phone the waitress again took my order and it came (they left the drinks in front of someone else at another table but I forgave that and just took the drinks as my mouth was like the Sahara and I was hungry for the sesh) When the time came for a second drink I had to approach a friend and ask them to order for me as I was sick of being made to feel like an inconvenience because I had no way to scan a bloody picture on the table.
I also ordered food which I thought was very tasty. I won't be going for drinks for another few month as its just too much hassle.
If it's table service only you need to provide table service and walk around checking. For many reasons not everyone can scan a dumb qr code. TAKE MY CASH!
Please note that before the pandemic this bars service was very good but they don't seem to be able to manage under the new...
