First visit here. Often see it from the other side of the canal but have never ventured over. Its a lovely setting and the sun in Manchester was shining!! Greeted by a nice guy at the entrance into the beer garden and shown to a table just inside. Didn't wait long until a lovely waitress came to take our drinks order, she advised they'd had some complaints about a particular lager so I opted for Estrella, she did also only charge for one hot chocolate but gave my two kids one each! This is where the positives end I'm afraid.... The Estrella came in a cask pint pot, no head, flat as a pancake. I asked straight away if it could be put in an Estrella glass, the waitress took to glass to the bar and I watched as the bar tender poured it into another cask pint glass, he brought it over with attitude, even flatter now and tried to explain to me that the glass had a nucleator in and doesn't affect the drink, I own two bars of my own and I'm not sure how many people would be bamboozled by this expert. This is £5.10 a pint and I further requested at that price I get a fresh one in an Estrella glass, this was slammed down on the table for me by the bar tender. The food did arrive quickly, no complaints there. The steak sandwich was cold, as were the fries that accompanied it, not worthy of further complaint, we ate our meal and left promptly. The setting is great, really cool spot, most of the staff were spot on, but brought down by a terrible bar tender leaving an unnecessary sour experience. The prices aren't cheap and unfortunately not justified on...

Brilliant service, delicious food and atmosphere. I came with two friends and we love sharing plates which there was so much variety! The menu had changed since I last came to include really nice vegan dishes and more cheese which I love.

The staff at the wharf are really accommodating from ordering drinks, choosing food and general attentiveness. The manager Katie onsite was so funny and helpful almost knowing exactly what I wanted as I eat a lot of cheese. She said the Chef Tom had introduced this summer menu and it was very good.

We ordered burrata, lamb kofta, camembert, bread, hummus, houllimi fries, squid, from starters and vegan penne with coconut feta (ill admit was abit worried but it was really lovely not as strong as normal feta) I asked for parmesan anyway which they happily gave 🥰

We ordered sticky toffee pudding and profiteroles and we asked for custard and toffee sauce instead of what was on normal which they were fine with! We were really happy with the meal and so full, really good value for money for amazing food.

Just a side note it has outdoor seating where we were before, and inside and outside is dog friendly. The pub has free onsite parking (amazing in city centre town) and you just come off motorway so easy to get too as well as going into town after or before!

Honestly definitely give the wharf a try we always go for Sunday roast but during the week it was amazing too!

Thank you Katie & wharf team you deserve all the praise for running such a...

Went last Saturday, 2.30 and the place was manic, okay the sun was out loads of people enjoying the weather, very noisy inside. On arrival told our table not ready yet as previous customers not finished so about 5 mins, was more like 10. When we were seated the first thing we were told was the whole room was booked for 4.30. Ordered our food service was quite slow, the food was nice but my son ordered chips as a side and they looked lovely but after taking a couple out the rest were little bits that were burnt and looked 'old'. As we had our starters to be served at the same time as our mains and we are not slow eaters and we had deserts, very tasty, as they came the waitress said they needed the table in 10mins! If we had had our starters as a separate course we would never have been finished in the time they had allotted as we were sat down late. The feeling of being rushed ruined the whole experience, maybe they should consider a bit of extra time before each seating. Food was tasty, portion sizes okay, was only warm not hot. Although we were in a smaller side room the noise was loud. It would have been terrible if you were hard of hearing. I saw a dog inside, actually don't have a problem with that however owner's should keep them under control as this one jumped up at a table twice and they were not even seated at a table! All in all we came out and all said not a place we would...

Always a fan of the Wharf for a special time, and you can't beat it on a Sunday for a roast, pie, or Asian-fusian salad. Ideal for a date or a classy yet casual catch up with pals. A great selection of pints that are local, broader UK, continental Europe, and classics. They always have at least one gluten free beer on tap at a time, this time was the Brightside Bitter, but often have an alternative option. There are food options for all with the menu having extensive catering for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. The staff are allergen aware and I have never had a problem eating here. They offer veggie and GF savoury pies and roasts, and GF fish and chips, as well as desert options which is a rare treat. The good is reliably hot and tasty, never rushed. They can run out of popular dishes especially by late on a Sunday, but that is to be expected of a place this busy. I had the crispy beef salad (GF) which was very flavourful and had perfect textures. Parking can be validated to avoid paying anything using an iPad at the bar. There is an accessible entrance, I believe an accessible loo too. Upstairs toilets are always very clean, as pleasant as a loo can be.
